Departure from Saint-Médard-sur-Ille. Parking in the campsite car park near the Ille and Rance Canal.
(S/E) Cross the bridges over the Ille and the canal and immediately turn left to follow the canal.
(1) After about 800 metres, take the path on the right and climb up to the Sainte-Anne des Bateliers Chapel. Follow the path to the road, and follow it to the left to the hamlet of Le Gris Pelin.
(2) Leave the road and take a path on the left. Shortly before the railway line, the path turns right and descends towards the canal. Follow the canal for 250 metres.
(3) Take the path on the right towards La Bruyère. Cross the hamlet and continue straight ahead.
(4) Go around a pond on the right. Turn left (south) and enter the Bois de Cranne. Pass a path coming from the left and, at the T-junction that follows, turn right at a right angle. Cross the woods heading west, following the Jandière stream, which you will cross once.
(5) At the crossroads, turn right. Cross the stream again and turn left immediately afterwards. Walk westwards along the edge of the woods. Ignore the path leading off to the left towards Bessu and, at the next crossroads, turn left towards Chemin Herbu
(6) Follow the small road south. At the crossroads (cross), continue straight ahead.
(7) At the next crossroads, turn left. At the exit of Haut Placis des Noës, turn right onto a path towards La Branchère.
(8) Turn right, then left towards La Noë Roulette. Pass in front of the quarry.
(9) At the next fork, take the left-hand path towards Haut Couyér. After the houses, continue east towards Bas Couyér. Cross this hamlet.
(10) At the three-way junction, turn right towards the canal. At the canal, turn right to reach the lock at Saint-Germain-sur-Ille.
(11) Cross the canal at the lock. Immediately afterwards, take the towpath (greenway) on the left. Follow the canal on your left until you reach Saint-Médard-sur-Ille (passing under the railway line three times) and, at the bridge after the third crossing, turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
