The Lovers’ Route in Chevaigné

Park in the car park near the church.

(S/E) From the church, take the Allée du Moulin and follow the path down towards the canal. Pass under the railway line and reach a small road. At the hamlet, turn left then right towards the canal.

(1) Just before the bridge, turn right. Walk alongside the Ille-et-Rance Canal on your left. Pass the Grugedaire Lock and stay on the towpath.

(2) Cross the first bridge over the canal and follow a small road. Take the first path on the left and head uphill.

(2) Turn left onto the road, cross over the canal and take the^first path on the left.

(3) At a junction, carry on straight ahead along the track, leaving a footpath on your left. Cross the road carefully and continue along the track opposite.

(4) At the next junction, turn left towards La Fricausière. Turn left, then right as the track bends, leaving the farm on your left.

(5) Cross a small road and head down the dirt track opposite. Take the first track on the left and continue downhill to the canal.

(6) Turn left and walk alongside the canal on your right. You’ll come out onto the D528; follow it to the right and cross over the canal.

(1) At the junction you passed at the start of the walk, carry on straight ahead. At a right-hand bend, turn left. Take the first path on the right and go under the railway line. This will take you to the church car park (S/E).
