Departure and arrival at Nogent-l'Artaud station (served at weekends by an hourly train from Paris-Est station).
(S/E) Cross the Marne at the D969 junction, turn left and go up Rue du Pont. You will find (1) the Lavoir de Saulchery a few metres further on.
(1) Go down the stairs, cross the D969 and take Rue du Chemin Vert. At the square, turn right and take Chemin de la Verrerie on your left to reach the banks of the Marne.
(2) Turn right and follow the Marne on your left along Chemin de la Verrerie. You will come to a crossroads with a reservoir.
(3) Turn right after the reservoir and follow the path until you reach a small bridge.
(4) Turn left, then after the bridge, turn right along the stream and vineyard. Cross the D969, then take Rue de Ruvet opposite for about 300 metres. In the bend, you will see the Ruvet wash house.
(5). Turn around, and after 50 metres on the left, take Rue des Babets and rejoin theGR®11.
At the junction with Rue de Perpeigneux, take thesecond right and follow theGR®11uphill (white-red markings). Take thethird path on the right, follow the white and red markings and continue straight ahead.
(6) Turn left, then right, and continue straight ahead through the vineyards.
(7) At the intersection, go down to the right, go straight ahead, then take the Chemin des Maintenons on the left.
(8) Take Rue de Pierreuse, where you will find the Lavoir de Romeny. Return to theGR®14via Rue des Traversaines. At the next crossroads, turn left uphill, then take the path on the right, Chemin du Murgerveron (white/red).
Continue straight ahead, then enter the woods. When you come out, walk alongside the caravans and, at the intersection with the D969, turn right and continue for about 100 metres.
(9) Turn left and walk along the Marne on your right until you reach the village of Azy-sur-Marne. You will find a picnic area before climbing onto the bridge.
(10) Cross the Marne towards Chézy and follow theGR® along the D151 road (take care).
(11) In Chézy, at the stop sign at the intersection with Avenue de la Libération, turn right then left after the bridge. See the wash house on the banks of the Dolloir (12).
Follow Rue du Vicariat. Turn left onto Grande Rue, then left onto Rue des Carmes. At the roundabout, you can turn left to admire the small stone bridge over the Dolloir.
(13). Turn around, go through the roundabout and past the Dolloir cheese shop, then take Rue du Jeu d'Arc.
(14) At the crossroads by the church, turn right onto the path leading up to Le Mont. Turn right and follow the road.
(15) At the intersection with the D86, take the path on the left that descends towards the Marne. After passing under an SNCF bridge, turn left and follow the Marne on your right. At the bridge, cross the railway line and walk alongside the factory.
(16) At the intersection, turn right onto Rue du Crochet. Follow the sign for Ruines de l'Abbaye. Turn right onto Rue des Écoles; the abbey ruins are in the bend. Turn right onto Rue Leduc de la Tournelle, then turn left. The 13th-century Saint-Germain Church is on the right. At the crossroads, turn right at the stop sign onto Grande Rue. Continue straight ahead, passing a 15th-century house on your left, then return to your starting point at Nogent station (S/E).
