The walk starts from the La Foux district, located 1 km east of Saint-Zacharie on the D560. There is a car park in the bend on the right where you can easily park.
(S/E) Cross the road carefully and walk up Chemin de la Gantesse for about 400 m.
(1) Turn right onto the well-marked GR® trail. Walk for about 3.5 km through the Vallon de l'Espagnol.
(2) Here, things get complicated because the GR® is blocked by a "private property" fence. Turn right and you will come to a crossroads.
(3) Notice the start of a well-marked path opposite, which is not listed on the IGN map. Follow this path north-east for about 1 km.
(4) Leave the path by turning right downhill and rejoin the GR®.
(5) Continue descending south-east for a good kilometre, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left.
(6) Turn right to the south-west and walk for 500 m, ignoring any paths branching off to the right or left. You will come to a crossroads.
(7) Take the large track on the right, where work is being carried out (laying pipes? in 2025).
(8) After about 100 metres, take a path on the left. At the fork, continue left until the next fork.
(9) Turn right just before the fork and continue south-west until you reach another fork.
(10) Continue left, then turn right, ignoring the path opposite.
(11) Turn sharply left at the hairpin bend and arrive at a fence.
(12) Follow the path on the right, then turn left onto a wide track and continue towards the D560.
(13) Follow it for a few dozen metres and continue on a wide track heading west. Follow it for about 1.5 km.
(14) Turn right onto an uphill track.
(15) Pass a ruined farm on the right and continue along the track on the left. Follow it downhill for 2 km to return to the car park (S/E).
