Mont Pezard route
A family hike with a variety of attractions: flora, slate quarry, chapel and other points of interest. Beautiful view of the Val Gelon on the way down. Directional signs on the ground complement this description. In addition, Lac Saint-Clair is a pleasant place to relax before or after the hike.
Vallon du Bens circular
This hike is certainly a little long in its entirety, but it can easily be broken down into shorter circular loops. In addition, the wide, shaded track along most of the route is well suited to family walks. And it offers a magnificent panorama at its highest point over the Allevard massif (Belledonne range).
Montmayeur Towers Route
A walk on Montraillan Hill between Belledonne and Les Bauges, following in the footsteps of the Lord of Montmayeur, vassal of the Duke of Savoy.
From Chapelle-du-Bard to Pont du Diable via Beauvoir
A lovely hike with beautiful views and scenery, quite varied, a little bit of tarmac but not much, with good signposting. Doable almost all year round, except in muddy conditions after rain, of course. At the Pont du Diable, you will cross the Dauphiné-Savoie border, with its pretty, colourful boundary stone. By whom?
Circular Prodin, Lac des Grenouilles, Chapotet
A lovely late summer walk in Belledonne.
From the start, there is a superb view of the Bauges Massif.
There is also a small orientation table at the start.
Col de la Perche and Col de l'Arbarétan
Hike in the Val Gelon, varied landscapes with beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the Belledonne mountain range.
Crête de Montraillant from the Chapelle Blanche
A good half-day walk to enjoy panoramic views of the Chartreuse, the Vercors in the distance, Lauzière and the nearby Belledonnes.
Please note: there is an error. This hike is on foot and not by mountain bike as indicated.
Route on the Plagnes ridges via the Tournelalon bypass
Circular route via the Tournetalon bypass. Climb up to the orientation table at the top of Les Plagnes, where a 360° panorama awaits you. Descend via Super Small Pass before returning to Prerond via the snowshoe trail.
Les Grands Moulins via the normal route and return via the ridges
From Val Pelouse, the ascent of Les Grands Moulins (2,495 m) offers hikers a varied and magnificent route. This summit is the penultimate rocky bastion at the northern end of the Belledonne mountain range.
At the summit of Les Grands Moulins, the 360° panorama is breathtaking. To the south, Belledonne; to the west, Chartreuse and Vercors; to the north, the Chambéry cluse, Les Bauges and Les Aravis; to the east, Lauzière, Beaufortain, Vanoise and, in the background, the majestic Mont Blanc.
The Refuge and the Col de la Perrière
A pleasant hike in the Belledonne massif. Very pretty views and a wide variety of vegetation.
Moderator's note (Caution): The Val Pelouse road is closed to all traffic 5.5km from the car park: following a landslide in January 2022, a large section of the road has been washed away.
Circular Grands Moulins route via the Col and the Refuge de la Perrière
A beautiful hike in Belledonne towards a clearly visible summit. Between the Col de la Perrière and the summit, the ascent via the north-west ridge deviates from the classic route and is intended for experienced hikers.
Boucles des Plagnes - Trail 2000 - Col de Claran
This is a very pretty route through the mountain pastures to the Col de Claran, offering panoramic views of all the mountains in the Bauges and Chartreuse regions in particular, but also far beyond, as far as Mont Blanc and Mont Aiguille.
The circuit is very well marked with traditional yellow signs and markings on the rocks at regular intervals.
Petit and Grand Charnier from the small pass
Le Grand Charnier is the peak overlooking the Collet d'Allevard resort. You can climb it via a very scenic walk, which follows the ridge for almost the entire route, and the summit offers magnificent views of all the surrounding mountain ranges.
For those prone to vertigo, see the ‘Practical Information’ section
Moderator’s note : some sections are considered very difficult; see reviews
