Mont Pezard route
A family hike with a variety of attractions: flora, slate quarry, chapel and other points of interest. Beautiful view of the Val Gelon on the way down. Directional signs on the ground complement this description. In addition, Lac Saint-Clair is a pleasant place to relax before or after the hike.

Les Grands Moulins via the normal route and return via the ridges
From Val Pelouse, the ascent of Les Grands Moulins (2,495 m) offers hikers a varied and magnificent route. This summit is the penultimate rocky bastion at the northern end of the Belledonne mountain range.
At the summit of Les Grands Moulins, the 360° panorama is breathtaking. To the south, Belledonne; to the west, Chartreuse and Vercors; to the north, the Chambéry cluse, Les Bauges and Les Aravis; to the east, Lauzière, Beaufortain, Vanoise and, in the background, the majestic Mont Blanc.
The Refuge and the Col de la Perrière
A pleasant hike in the Belledonne massif. Very pretty views and a wide variety of vegetation.
Moderator's note (Caution): The Val Pelouse road is closed to all traffic 5.5km from the car park: following a landslide in January 2022, a large section of the road has been washed away.
Boucles des Plagnes - Trail 2000 - Col de Claran
This is a very pretty route through the mountain pastures to the Col de Claran, offering panoramic views of all the mountains in the Bauges and Chartreuse regions in particular, but also far beyond, as far as Mont Blanc and Mont Aiguille.
The circuit is very well marked with traditional yellow signs and markings on the rocks at regular intervals.
Les Hauts de Sainte-Hélène
A short hike that takes you through a few hamlets and offers unobstructed views of the Belledonnes and Chartreuse mountains.
Tour de Chantemerle
A route for everyone that will take you to a remote hamlet and its castle steeped in history, then along the shores of Lake Sainte Hélène.
The Knights of Huile
The perfect family outing, this route will introduce you to the Bourget-en-Huile and Pontet marshes.
You will learn about the flora and fauna, the marshes, how they were formed and how they are being restored. There is also information about the woods and mining, castles and even Hannibal. All this is provided by information points along the route. A booklet offering a fun approach to the trail is on sale at the Chalet du Verney.
Pointe de Rognier with return via the Mollards ridge
This is a beautiful hike at the northern end of the Belledonne massif. With the help of an orientation table, discover the 360° view that awaits you at the top of this peak.
As indicated in the paragraph "During the hike or nearby", part of the hike can be done with young children, with an elevation gain of about 600m.
Grand Chat loop
A beautiful hike in the north of the Belledonne Massif. The ridge route offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. A few information boards mark the route.
La Chapelle Maillée
A short hike that starts in the vineyard and climbs gently through sunny undergrowth.
The chapel is a modest oratory on an old path once used by monks between Aillons and Lourdens.
Route via Mont Rochefort and Col du Mont
An easy hike that skirts around Lac de la Thuile. Mont Rochefort offers a beautiful view of the village and its lake.

The village's main attraction in the summer is, of course, the small Lac de la Thuile lake.

A pleasant, uncrowded walk from the village of La Thuile. The modest summit of Mont Rochefort offers one of the best views of the lake.

A very pretty circular for a long walk among the vineyards of Chignin. Very pleasant in the foothills of Les Bauges. A beautiful getaway among medieval towers and cellars, with magnificent views of the Chambéry valley and the Belledonne mountain range. It is even more beautiful in the middle of autumn, just after the grape harvest.
