Aleyrac - Citelles
A peaceful hike along wide hillside paths, close to the picturesque, tiny, hidden village of Citelles.
Aleyrac Abbey
This loop leads to the moving ruins of the former Aleyrac Abbey. Along the way, you will enjoy views of the Grignan plain and the valley.
The Portoise plain
This route, with very little elevation gain, winds along the narrow roads of Portes-en-Valdaine, offering a 360° panoramic view of the village: its characteristic bell tower, its old village centre and the Serre de Mirabel in the background.
The ridges of Rochefort-en-Valdaine
This lovely loop along the ridges of L'Izard and Mont Laroche offers magnificent views of the Roubion valley as far as the foothills of the Vercors and the 3 Becs.
Starting from the pretty village of La Touche, the route passes the castles of Rochefort-en-Valdaine, then the truffle fields of Janeston.
The hike also crosses the pretty little hamlet of Moulin de Bay on the riverbank, via a succession of varied paths and trails, which are sometimes steep but only for short distances.
The Citelle and Serre Pointu streams
Let yourself be carried away by the diversity of the landscapes along this hike! The route takes you along the Ruisseau de Citelles stream and follows in the footsteps of its past, with old hamlets and mills, before climbing up to the plateau covered with lavender fields.
Around Mastaize
With its mix of small country lanes, paths lined with fields and forest trails, this peaceful route offers a lovely escape into the countryside with views of the surrounding hills.
The Cîtelles Stream
This is an easy hike that alternates between cool woodland and wide open trails on the plateau. You will pass through the hamlet of CÎtelles with its small chapel and waterfall, which is only accessible from above. The return journey follows the stream, where you can take a dip in places.
The route crosses the river four times via small bridges or large stones.
This is a very pleasant walk in summer, and the breaks by the water are very welcome.
Charroux fountain at the start of La Chèvre in Taulignan
This route is mostly shaded, in the Bois de Taulignan and along the Berre, avoiding tracks and favouring footpaths. Recommended in hot weather and especially when the lavender is in bloom, as the plateau is covered with it. Some of the route is marked with old yellow signs (PR®): plastic stapled to tree trunks or yellow paint. However, a GPS is strongly recommended to follow the route, especially between points (4) and (7) as there are many paths in the undergrowth and not all of them are marked on the IGN map. It may be preferable to follow the guidance on the OSM map for this section.
Around Souspierre
For experienced hikers, this is a beautiful hike, partly through the woods on unmarked trails. After a very beautiful passage along the ridge, they lead to cliffs followed by a dizzying descent into a rocky ridge to the Grotte de l'Ermite, a natural excavation in the rocks. Above, stand the summit of Châtelard and the ruins of an ancient watchtower dating from the Middle Ages, destroyed during the Wars of Religion. The panoramic view over the valley is superb.
Châteauneuf de Mazenc - Souspierre circular
Between the undergrowth and agricultural land, a short, easy hike allows you to enjoy the landscapes at the edge of the Valdaine plain.
Les Châtelards - Dieulefit-Bourdeaux region
A circular route offering a chance to discover the varied landscapes around La Bégude-de-Mazenc as well as the old village of Châteauneuf-de-Mazenc. With a route mainly through woodland, this long but technically easy hike will be very pleasant on hot summer days.

This route follows a small road, a tarmac track (in poor condition) and finally a narrow path.

Le Janeston
From the medieval site of Rochefort-en-Valdaine, discover the slopes of the Citelles valley and climb up to the Janeston plateau. The prefix "jan" (broom wood, juniper heath) is characteristic of Mediterranean vegetation.
Pays de Grignan – Truffle fields and vineyards
This route allows you to explore the medieval town via the Porte Anguille, flanked by two towers. It then takes you to the foothills of Taulignan to discover an ancient Roman road. Further on, the Domaine Bramarel lies at the heart of France’s main truffle-producing region. You’ll reach the Silk Road as you pass the burnt-out factory, a former blacksmith’s workshop. Circular around Château de la Roche via the ruins of Béconne
From the small village of Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne, surrounded by beautiful hills, there is a pleasant, easy route dominated by La Lance, Le Rocher des Aures, Mont Rachas and La Crête de Rozier. You walk among vineyards, lavender and broom, climbing through oak and pine trees to enjoy the magnificent landscapes that the Drôme Provençale has to offer. And each season adorns this place with new colours.
In the Lance scrubland
The buildings (or ruins) along the walk tell the story of another era dating back to the 12th century: chapels, castles, destroyed villages, a fortified farm and a water-powered factory.
The vegetation varies from holm oak forest and lavender fields to apricot orchards and vineyards.
Superb views of the Lance mountain and, from the Col de la Roche and the ridge above Béconne, views of the valley.
From Poët-Laval to Les Vitrouillères in the Pays de Dieulefit
A very pleasant, varied loop with no particular difficulties. From woodland to meadows, it will take you to the remarkable site of Les Vitrouillères, where the potters of Dieulefit extracted clay until 1964. At the end of the route, the old village of Le Poët-Laval, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, is of course a must-see.
Le Châtelard - The Hermit’s Cave
A short hike along a path that once led to the Grotte de l’Ermite and a castle destroyed during the Wars of Religion.
Perched on a narrow ridge, this viewpoint offers a lovely 360° view of the village of Eyzahut and the cliffs, with the forest of Saoû, the Trois Becs to Roche Colombe, the Grand Delmas and the Couspeau mountain as a backdrop.
Mont Rachas
Located between the Rhône Valley, the Diois and the gateway to Provence, Mont Rachas offers superb 360° views thanks to its central location.
Trails and small paths, alternating between climbs and flat sections, make for a relatively easy ascent. The return journey is enhanced by a short detour to the Tour d'Alençon, a 12th-century ruin.
Coste Chaude from the village of Puygiron
This walk goes around Coste Chaude, the dominant peak of Puygiron, before skirting the lavender fields and the Saint-Bonnet Chapel.
Réauville via the Serre de la Motte, starting from Aiguebelle

Around Grignan via Les Montines
A pleasant, easy hike. Very charming thanks to the magnificent view of Grignan Castle, residence of the Comtesse de Sévigné, among others. Passing by the summit of Les Montines and a "sea of hills".
La Lance via the Rocher des Aures
Montagne de la Lance holds a special place in Drôme Provençale. Easily recognisable with its long curved shape, it dominates the plain at 1,300 metres and is therefore visible from quite a distance.A vast panorama opens up as you reach the summit following the ridge.
Due to the presence of herd protection dogs (patous), hiking is prohibited during the summer grazing period, from 20 May to 31 October.
Pays de Grignan - Vineyards and cabins
This route departs from Grignan and takes you along small roads and picturesque paths to visit the hamlet of La Grande Tuilière and the renowned Domaine de Montine wine estate. You will then take a path through the vineyards, with the added bonus of a beautiful view of the equally famous Château de Grignan. From there, a fun trail will take you back towards the village, then you will take the grassy paths to reach the end of your mountain bike ride.
Pays de Grignan - From tower to cave
This easy route takes you on a tour of the south of Grignan, with its truffle oaks and lavender fields. You’ll pass by the Saint-Barthélémy Chapel and the village of Chamaret with its famous hilltop tower. You’ll follow a picturesque path along the River Lez. On the way back, you’ll pass the famous Rochecourbière Cave and catch a glimpse of Madame de Sévigné’s ‘period table’.
Via Pinet and Sagnac, starting from Espeluche
This walk starting from Espeluche takes you on a tour of the surrounding area along its narrow roads lined with lavender fields and forest paths, with views of the nearby hilltop villages.
Rochefort-en-Valdaine Castle
Starting from Espeluche, this circuit takes you along pretty paths in the Bois de Fonbrenoux to the partly ruined castle of Rochefort-en-Valdaine, which still has its 13th-century Saint-Blaise chapel, listed as a historic monument. It then continues along the ridges, offering beautiful views of the valley.
The Bois de Jamot
Walk through the Bois de Jamot, surrounded by the scent of pine trees, on a gentle path that heralds the colours of Provence.
Trou du Furet
On the border between the Baronnies and the Diois, this route takes you to the cliffs of Eyzahut with the large arch carved into the cliff, the famous "Trou du Furet".

A pleasant hike that takes you from Réauville, a charming village in the Drôme Provençale, to the Abbey of Notre-Dame d'Aiguebelle.
The Abbey of Aiguebelle in Réauville
This is a pleasant family walk, the first part of which takes place in the forest and leads to the Monastery of Aiguebelle, located on the loop. The second part leads through heathland and lavender fields to a plateau where the view gradually opens up to Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail, La Lance, the Baronnies and, closer by, the Château de Grignan and the Donjon de Chamaret.

Notre-Dame d'Aiguebelle Abbey from Espeluche

The Chapel of Notre-Dame de Montceau
A hike that is not too difficult overall, with many tarmac sections but little traffic. The final climbs to reach Butte de Montceau, whose name means ‘little hill’, and the chapel are the only challenging parts of this route. The chapel was built on the site of ancient Gallo-Roman burial grounds that were later Christianised.

A classic peak in the Drôme Provençale offering a magnificent 360-degree panorama stretching from the Rhône Valley to the Hautes-Alpes, Ventoux and Diois...Starting from the Fontlargias lodge, this is a circular route that is shorter than other options, following good paths and presenting no technical difficulties.
From Moutette to Les Ramières from Saint-Gervais-sur-Roubion
Before exploring the narrow streets of the fortified village of Saint-Gervais-sur-Roubion, discover the rich Valdaine plain. You will cross the Ramières du Roubion, a preserved, shaded natural area where biodiversity reigns supreme.

Montagne de Saint-Maurice is famous for its chapel and ridges. This route takes you there via a track suitable for vehicles and offers a lovely view with a magnificent 360° panorama, with the Trois Becs, Grand Delmas and Montagne de Couspeau to the north, Montagne de la Lance to the south and, on a clear day, Mont Ventoux. The return journey follows a path through a beech forest, at the bottom of a wild valley.

This route takes you there via a track suitable for vehicles, allowing you to enjoy a lovely viewpoint with a magnificent 360° panorama: to the north, the Trois Becs, the Grand Delmas and Montagne de Couspeau; to the south, Montagne de la Lance; and on a clear day, Mont Ventoux.
Saint-Maurice via the Combe
On the border between the Baronnies and the Diois, Saint-Maurice is famous for its chapel and ridges. There is a beautiful view to the north with the forest of Saoû, the Trois Becs at Roche Colombe, the Grand Delmas and the Montagne de Couspeau in the background, and to the south, the Montagne de la Lance and, on a clear day, Mont Ventoux.

Priory and ochre
This walk takes you to the Saint-Blaise priory and the ruins of La Viale, as well as through ravines carved out of ochre veins.
Tour of the Poët and Saint-Maurice Mountains
This route takes you along small roads, forest tracks and footpaths, allowing you to discover different landscapes and villages. Starting from Rochebaudin, the route passes through the Col du Perthuis, the Col de Ventebrun, Dieulefit, Poët-Laval, the Grand Pas quarry and Eyzahut.
Bisquerle trail starting from Rochebaudin
Starting from Rochebaudin, this hike crosses Les Blanchons to reach the foot of Rocher de la Tournelle. It then follows the Bisquerle trail, passes Pied Berthon (possible route to Eyzahut), and joins the DieulefitGRP® (long-distance footpath), allowing you to return to the village via a forest path along the Viarrand ravine.
Serre Gros from Rochebaudin
The Poët mountain is the last foothill of the Pre-Alps above the Rhône plain, and Serre Gros is its highest point at 971 metres.
Caution: very steep climb in the rock chimney (do not attempt in wet weather).
Circular route on the Rouvergue plateau via the cliffs
The first part of this route follows the edges of the Rouvergue plateau. From the top of the cliffs, it overlooks the Crevasses de Chantemerle, which appeared after a series of earthquakes that shook the region from June 1772 to December 1773. This promontory also offers superb panoramic views from west to east for 5 km. The second part of the route takes you on a pleasant walk across the plateau, from the undergrowth to cultivated land. In June, the lavender fields add extra charm to the Provençal farmhouses built on this land.
