The walk starts at the village hall in Portes-en-Valdaine.
(S/E) Head towards the village centre, passing the town hall and the school. At the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin de l’Allier. Ignore two paths on the right. Cross the road and head towards the village of Les Alliers.
(1) Keep left until you leave the village. Then continue straight on and cross the Route de la Bégude de Mazenc. Turn left onto Chemin de Favier, then right towards Ferme Brés on Chemin de la Treille.
(2) Continue straight on through the hamlet until you reach the road.
(3) Turn right at the bus stop and immediately left to rejoin Chemin de la Tour on the other side of the A-road. Cross the bridge over the Lanson and arrive at a junction with Chemin de Champ Fournier.
(4) Turn left after the chicken coop onto the Chemin de Champ Fournier. A few metres further on, at the signpost for Champ Fournier, take the path on the right towards the forest and Mont Cachan. Cross a road. Stay on the path following the markings, then walk along the field until you can see the hamlet of Les Peyrouses. Then head into the forest and keep left. Walk alongside a wood, go into it and then come out again. Then walk alongside the lavender field on the right to reach a junction.
(5) Turn right to cross the woodland and keep to the left until you reach Chemin de Darenne. Take this path to the left. Continue to the junction with Chemin du Bélier.
(6) Continue to the right until you reach the signpost for Le Langeon.
(7) Turn left onto a small path and follow it to the road.
(8) Cross the D126 towards Portes-en-Valdaine to take a path between the houses. Join Chemin de Monier on the right, then take Chemin du Cimetière on the left, then turn left again onto Chemin de la Croix and return to the village hall (S/E).
