From Taulignan, take the Route d'Aleyrac (D809) then turn right onto Chemin du Poët-Laval. Continue along this tarmac road, which becomes stony. Take the second road on the left. Park in a clear space just before the hamlet of La Chèvre.
(S/E) Return to the right on the road you came along by car. Turn onto the second road on the left. Stay on this main road, following the VTT12 signs.
(1) Cross a concrete ford over the Ravin des Grailles. At the next intersection, descend to the right, pass the ruins on the right and arrive at the signpost marked "Fachet 366 m".
(2) Descend to the right towards "l'Esclouzeau". Take the first left and follow the yellow markings on the path, which becomes grassy as you approach La Berre.
(3) Cross the stream, ignore a path going up to the right marked with a yellow cross and continue straight ahead. Further on, follow two yellow markings to climb briefly to the right above the stream, then descend to the left: there is a fallen tree to go around. At the yellow cross, turn left then right to find the markings again.
(4) At the signpost marked "Cime de Rozier", turn right then left (two yellow markers). A little further on, leave the yellow markings, which indicate climbing to the right up a very steep, ravined slope. Continue straight ahead. From there, the route follows an unmarked but well-marked path that climbs steadily towards the ridge above the Berre stream, following the same direction. Join another wider path above.
(5) Continue straight ahead on this path, which then climbs, curving to the right and then to the left to join a path coming from above: tree trunks laid across the path block the way to the right.
(6) Continue to the left: you will find the markings for the VTT12 trail indicated in the opposite direction. Follow this wide, grassy path through the undergrowth, which climbs steadily to the ridge and reaches an intersection with the signpost "Serre Muat 648 m".
(7) Continue straight ahead on the VTT12 marked trail. This trail runs along the side of Serre Enrichier, overlooking Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne in the Dieulefit-Bourdeaux region, and offers beautiful views through gaps in the vegetation. Pass the "Serre Pigière 650 m" signpost and continue to the next signpost, "Sous le Col 650 m". Keep left and climb up to the Col de la Croix (671 m).
(8) Descend to the left on the wide path, passing the signpost "Sous le Mont Rachas 660 m". Join the GR®429 (white and red markings) and follow it in the same direction.
(9) At the signpost "Les Plaines 626 m", leave the GR® and turn left to walk alongside the ruins of a large farm surrounded by lavender fields. After a large lime tree, rejoin a track and cross the plateau heading south, walking alongside the lavender fields.
(10) Turn onto the first path on the left, which descends steeply.
(11) Ignore a path marked in yellow on the right, which you will take on the way back. Continue downhill on the trail for a short round trip to the Fontaine de Charroux. On the way back, take the marked path on the left, which follows the Ravin de Charroux above.
(12) Descend the few steps to continue along the ravine through the sometimes dense vegetation. Follow the yellow markings.
(13) Pass between two old charcoal kilns. A little further on, the path leaves the ditch to cross the Berre river over a mound of earth and continue on the other side.
(14) When the markings indicate to turn left into the woods, continue straight ahead to reach a wide carriageway and return to the starting car park (S/E).
