A walk in the Taillard forest offers views of the last mountains of the southern Loire on one side and, on the other side, the Annonay basin, the Rhône valley and, on a clear day, the Alps.

The route starts from the village of Bouvante-le-Haut with its distinctive double wash house. The climb up to the Ambel plateau takes you through a succession of refreshing forests, unique woodlands, flower-filled meadows and breathtaking scenery at the Col de la Bataille.

Pastoral plateau, undergrowth, flower-filled meadow. A varied and very pleasant route offering the chance to encounter a rich and unspoilt flora. This route features a very steep descent for the return to Bouvante le Haut via the Col de Rioupeysson.

The Maumarcha or the fantastic trail of northern Vivarais: over (more than) 1.2 km, behind a tree or a rock, you will encounter strange characters... let your imagination run wild and be amazed by the whimsical creations of nature... Then return via the Grand Felletin, where, according to the elders, it is possible to see the three suns at dawn, when the latter is reflected on Mont Blanc.

An oppidum, a mushroom discovery trail and a 12th-century church punctuate this superb route, which promises beautiful panoramic views from the heights of the various screes and Mont Chaix overlooking the Ay valley.

An easy walk to enjoy as a family. Very popular in summer, it is worth the detour to admire the panoramic view over the Alps and the summits of Mont Blanc, the Lyonnais mountains and the Giers valley, the Vercors massif and those of northern Vivarais. With a wealth of flowers in spring, you can gather bilberries in August and raspberries in September. Unless you choose to go ski touring or cross-country skiing here in winter.

On the route of an old Ardèche railway line that linked Le Cheylard to Lamastre. Here, take the tunnels and majestic old bridges, the likes of which are no longer built, for a day to (re)discover the Sumène valley in a different way.

A relatively easy walk to a viewpoint overlooking the Rhône valley, the Pilat and Ardèche mountains, and a superb view of the Alps on clear days.

A walk around Saint-Symphorien-de-Mahun alternates between forest undergrowth and flower-filled meadows, high altitude with panoramic views and bucolic valleys, century-old forest paths built stone by stone by hand and those made with bulldozers. In places, it feels like you are walking on a green carpet. Let yourself be surprised by the diversity of the places and landscapes.

This is a beautiful hike in the hills, offering superb views of the Rhône valley and the Alps, as well as the northern Vivarais mountains. On the way back to Annonay, the trail winds above the Cance valley before it becomes a gorge once you have passed Annonay. The crossing of the ridges with broom in bloom in late spring will not leave nature lovers indifferent.

This hike will test your sense of direction, because nothing looks more like a dirt track than another dirt track. A varied route with beautiful views of the Ardèche and Loire (Loire 42) peaks from the Vernos plateau.
