Description of the route

Park in the car park at the start of the greenway opposite the eco-bike relay station, Rue Jean Jaurès in Ferrière-la-Grande.

(S/E) Take the greenway between the eco bike relay and the car park. Go straight ahead to the road and keep going until you reach the next one (D436).

(3) Take this passage, which passes near the primary school and joins a street. Turn right and at the end of the street, turn right to follow the direction of traffic. At the next crossroads, turn right and join a side street (Rue d'Obrechies). Turn left towards Maubeuge, ignore a street on the left and you will arrive at a three-way junction, opposite No. 17.

(5) Leave Rue de Quiévelon and stay on the left-hand path. Pass the Quiévelon stream, then under a power line, and you will soon reach a fork in the road at a place called Les Hayes (elevation 168).

(6) Turn left and continue to the next crossroads at the foot of an electricity pylon.

(7) Turn right (Chemin de Colleret) then turn right onto thefirst path (elevation 191). Follow this path straight ahead, cross a wood and you will arrive at the end of Rue de Maubeuge.

(8) Turn right, walk past the farm on your left and you will come to a crossroads. Turn right towards Ferrières and continue straight ahead until you reach the war memorial at the foot of Quiévelon church.

(9) Turn left onto Grande Rue and continue straight ahead until you reach a fork. Continue straight ahead on the middle lane (PR®®), pass the hamlet of Mesnil on your right and continue until you reach the crossroads (elevation 212).

(10) Turn right towards Belle-Vue and join a three-way junction at the edge of the forest.

(11) Turn right, then quickly leave the road at the 90° bend and go straight ahead on the path. Continue for about 2.5 km until you find the start of a path on the right (elevation 184).

(12) Turn right towards Trou de l'Enfer and cross the Carnoye stream. Go up opposite and at the road, continue straight on towards the houses and a crossroads with a central island (elevation 179).

(13) Turn left (Rue Grand Chemin), stay on this main road and continue to Obrechies church.

(14) Continue straight ahead on the main road, which curves and descends. You will arrive at a three-way junction at no. 167.

Very beautiful route, just watch out for mud when it rains, and some climbs in the forest with large rocks, but otherwise a very beautiful and varied route.
