(S) Start north-east from the hotel, the path climbs steeply and quickly enters the forest.
Exit the forest at the Gruobu Mittelstafel chalets.
(1) Higher up, walk alongside the Gruobu Oberstafel chalets at an altitude of 2370 metres.
(2). Continue in a steady easterly direction, passing a small lake before completing the steep climb to the Augstbordpass.
(3) Begin the long descent, reaching the change in ridge at an altitude of 2,454 metres, where you can take a break to soak up the valley leading to Zermatt below the Matterhorn.
(4) Continue the descent to the alpine hamlet of Jungu.
(5) Take the service cable car down to Saint-Niklaus.
(6) Then take the postal bus to Grachen.
