A view of the Soller valley

A short route that takes you up to a higher vantage point to discover the Soller valley. The route follows ancient cobbled paths in places and mainly crosses olive and orange groves on the mountainsides, along shaded paths.

Description of the walk

The start is near the Calatrava car park, which is also the “Soller Centre” bus stop.

(S/E) From there, simply walk up Calle de Cetre in the opposite direction to the centre, and join the “Carretera Desviament”, the main access road to the port of Soller, which you cross just by the petrol station to find the path marked “Cami de Castello”, then follow the hiking markings on the posts that start here very carefully.

Follow the path until you see the sign for "Cami de Picafort". You will soon come to the railway line, which you cross.

(1) The road then turns into a paved path. Further on, you cross another bridge over the railway line.

(2) Continue along the path until you reach the Castello path on the mountainside, which you follow to the right towards Deia. This leads to the first large farmhouse, “Can Jeroni Gros”.

(3) You cross this first property, then walk alongside the properties of Cas Xorc and S’Heretat, still following the signposts towards Deia.

(4) Once you reach the chapel (Capella de Castello), leave the Deia path and head towards Port de Soller. Continue until you reach the road from Soller to Deia, at the Col de Deia.

(5) Cross the road, then the garden of the Hotel Corazon, following the signposted path towards Soller. If access to the garden is closed, there should be a way round the hotel at the far end of the car park. Continue down the path following the signposts until you rejoin the GR®221.

(6) Follow it towards Soller. This leads to Calle de Cetre, the starting point of the hike.
