Puig de Maria in Pollença

Parking is available along the MA2200.

(S/E) Leave the MA2200 by taking a small road that heads south-east at first, then narrows as it winds its way up towards the north-east.
All along the way, you’ll follow the red and white markings of a^GR® trail^. There’s no risk of going the wrong way.

(1) About a third of the way along, there is a sort of lay-by. The path ends with a section of limestone paving.

(2) You’ll reach the summit, facing the Sanctuary church.

The return journey follows the same route. Take care on the cobblestones, which can be slippery on the descent in wet weather. This will take you back to the starting point (S/E).

The start of the trail is along the MA2200, south of the town of Pollença. The MA2200 is the main road leading from Port de Pollença to Inca and Palma de Mallorca.

The path, on the left as you approach from Port de Pollença, is marked by a large sign that you cannot miss.

At the start, there is space to park 3 to 4 cars. If this is full, there is a large statue with a car park about 100 metres back (towards the north-east).

The narrow road quickly becomes very narrow indeed. Two vehicles cannot pass each other. It is not advisable to attempt to drive part of the way by car.

At the sanctuary, there is a sort of snack bar.

On the way up, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Tramontana mountains and their peaks.

At the summit, walking between the church and the square tower, you’ll have a lovely view of Pollença Bay.
