Sant Elm, La Trappa and Cala en Basset
Starting from the village of Sant Elm, follow the GR®221, which is very well signposted throughout the walk. The route takes you up through the Tramuntana mountains to the monastery of La Trapa. The shaded, gentle start gives way to magnificent and sometimes dizzying panoramic views of the island of Dragonera. After the easy descent via a series of hairpin bends, a detour to the rocky and deserted Cala en Basset is possible as a reward. Please note that the technical difficulty, the gradient and the sheer drop at the end of the ascent from the west make this section perilous on the descent; following the route in an anti-clockwise direction is therefore not recommended.
