(S)When you get off the train, cross the tracks carefully and start climbing up to the left. The path begins with a hairpin bend, then quickly opens out onto a clearing near a road. Continue along the path climbing up to the right. The climb, which is fairly steady, takes you through woodland. Cross the Ognona via a small wooden footbridge.
(1) When you reach a track, continue to the right.
(2) Leave the track by taking a path on the right that is not always very visible and is in varying states of repair to reach the Praz Cagnard farm. If in doubt, you can continue along the track, which also leads to Praz Cagnard.
(3) Once at the farm, leave the track and take the path climbing up to the right. The path leads to a first track, which you cross. The path then leads to a second track, which you take to the right to reach the Pléiades station, the terminus of the MVR line.
(4) Cross the tracks with care, then continue straight ahead across the meadow to quickly reach the Pléiades plateau, where the ‘AstroPléiades’ educational site is located. Take the time to admire the sweeping panorama: behind you, the Teysachaux and the Dent de Lys; to the left, the Tours d’Aï and de Mayen, then the Dents du Midi; and opposite, beyond the Lake Geneva basin, the Chablais massif dominated by the Cornettes de Bise. Visit and cross the educational site, following the path as it winds down to the trail on the southern side of the plateau, towards Chablais and Lake Geneva.
(5)When you reach a track, continue to the right. Magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the Lake Geneva Riviera soon open up. When you reach a second track, continue to the right again. Pass a few houses to reach a road. Follow the road for a few metres.
(6)At a fork, leave the road and take the path on the right. At a junction with a footpath, go down the steps opposite.
(7) At another fork, turn left. Continue along the road, crossing the railway line.
(8)Turn left onto the road and, a few metres further on, take a path on the right.
(9)Where the path joins the road (high-voltage power line), continue to the right.
(10)At a crossroads, turn left onto the road.
(11) Continue along the track to the left.
(12)At the next junction, continue straight ahead.
(13) Continue along the road below on the left (Chemin du Poyet).
(14) Continue straight ahead.
(15) Continue along the road straight ahead.
(16) At the junction with Route des Pléiades, turn right and, a few metres further on, follow the dead-end road all the way to the left. Just before the bend in the dead-end road, turn right to reach Blonay station (E).
