Park along the Route du Tour du Lac at Saint-Saphorin or arrive by train.
(S) At the top of the station underpass, walk past the wine cellar and take the lane that goes up to the left. Then continue uphill along Chemin du Mont. At the first Y junction, turn left onto Chemin de la vigne à Gilles (signposted Randonnée pédestre).
(1) At the crossroads, take the paved footpath through the vineyards that passes under the hamlet of Le Monteiller to Rivaz.
(2) At the entrance to Rivaz, turn left (yellow sign). 30 metres further on, take the road on the right (hiking sign). About 80 metres further on, follow the road to the right and then to the left at the fork to rejoin the paved footpath through the vineyards.
(3) At the Clos des Moines crossroads, continue straight ahead on the footpath between the vineyards (ignore the path on the right).
(4) At the next crossroads, do not turn right up towards the corniche road, but continue left along the path. When you reach the hamlet of Bourg-en-Lavaux, turn right.
(5) A few steps further on, turn left to rejoin the footpath. Leave two paths on the right to find another crossroads.
(6) At this junction, turn right towards Riex. At the entrance to Rieux, go up the street to the left of the stairs. At the next Y-junction, turn left (signposted Voie Pédestre Latry) and continue straight on until you reach a roundabout. Take the first right onto Chemin de la Mouniaz.
(7) At the next X-shaped crossroads, go up to the right towards the houses and then turn left at the end into the lane that continues uphill. Continue straight ahead at the crossroads. Continue downhill through the village until you reach a larger road. Turn right and follow the road on the left, keeping to the footpath.
(8) The path branches off to the left of the road. Continue along it for about 700 metres (passing a road on your right). At a Y-junction, turn left and follow the hiking signs. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing; the footpath continues downhill and joins Grande Rue.
(9) After the fountain, follow Grande Rue to the right, leaving Chemin de la Creuse on your left, and climb up to join Route de la Petite Corniche. At the junction with this road, turn left and walk on the left-hand side of the road.
(10) Just before the bend, after a yellow house, turn left onto the path running parallel to the road. Follow the path to the village of Aran and at the first crossroads turn left onto Rue du Village.
Continue along this street until you reach the Route de la Petite Corniche again. Follow this road to the left. Take the road that goes up to the right (Chemin de Montagny). Continue towards the Château de Montagny, go around it and go down the path through the vineyards to reach the Chemin de la Farganne, which you should follow.
(11) At the end of the path, turn left onto Chemin de Gruyère and continue straight ahead (leaving Rue du Châtelard on your right). Enter the village of Le Chatelard and continue until you cross Route de la Petite Corniche. Take Chemin du Cret opposite. Continue straight ahead, then take Chemin du Binet.
Continue along the path that runs alongside the railway line, crossing over it before joining Chemin de Bertholod.
At the end of the vineyards, turn left and immediately right to reach Lutry station (E).
