Park in the town hall car park.
(S/E) Leave the town hall car park and walk between the cemetery and the school. At the "Les Lucanes" residence, take the small path that climbs to the left of the building and leads to a road. Follow it to the right until you reach the junction.
(1) Follow the tarmac road to the right to join the D3, crossing a bridge. You will have a beautiful view of the Andance mountain. Follow the departmental road for 200 m, crossing another bridge, until you reach a fork.
(2) Leave the D3 and take a small road that climbs to the left and continue straight ahead until you reach a farm.
(3) Continue along a magnificent dirt track lined with downy oaks and scorpion broom, overlooking the Chomérac valley. The stony path, sometimes lined with low basalt stone walls, continues between oak and chestnut trees to the hamlet of Gratenas.
(4) Continue straight ahead, leaving the houses of the hamlet on your right. The path climbs slightly into the stream. After a stone house on your left, continue to the crossroads.
(5) Continue along a wide path surrounded by oak trees, boxwood and large broom bushes and, at a sharp bend, leave it to take a small path opposite. Walk along the beautiful basalt organ pipe cliffs of the Lérou plateau to the Col du Péronnier, where you will have a beautiful unobstructed view: you can see the villages of Rochessauve and Chomérac, the Alissas quarry and, further away, the town of Privas.
(6) From the pass, descend along a small path lined with boxwood.
(7) Cross the Rieutord and continue on to a hairpin bend.
(8) Turn left and walk past large piles of basalt rocks. A little further on, when you cross the stream, you can climb 50 metres to reach the Gour du Fromage. It is said that people used to use this place to keep their cheese cool. Reach the hamlet of Riou.
(9) At the exit of the hamlet, continue along the tarmac road. During the descent, you will have a splendid view of the Saint-Vincent de Barrès valley. Return to the fork in the road.
(1) Turn right at the hairpin bend and retrace your steps to reach the town hall car park (S/E).
