Tour du Mail des Morères

Park in the car park by the church and cemetery in Antras.

(S/E) Leave the church on your right and the town hall on your left and head north up the village's main street. At the end of the tarmac road, continue along a stony path. You will come to a fork.

(1) Continue straight ahead, heading west-northwest (leave the Irazein trail on your right, which you will take on the way back). Then head northwest and ignore the paths on either side.

(2) At an intersection, turn left (fountain on your right). At the fork shortly after, keep right (red and yellow GRP® Tour du Biros markings) and head for the Col de la Croix.

(3) Follow the GRP® on the right, climb and enter the forest.

(4) Cross a limestone chain via the Brèche de la Mail de Laroque and continue north-east with the GRP®.

(5) At the next intersection, follow a forest track to the right. Continue straight ahead (east) and ignore the paths on the left. Leave the forest, turn left, cross a stream and you will immediately come to an intersection.

(6) Then turn right, still following the GRP®. You will quickly reach the Cabane de Couledoux (drinking water point).

(7) Then turn left (east) to reach the Col des Morères.

(8) Descend on the other side and reach the Cabane des Morères (spillway of a small stream).

(9) Take the path on the right (south-east then south) towards a low stone wall below. Then turn left at the edge of the forest. Cross a meadow and turn left up the steep slope. Enter the forest again and you will soon reach a crossroads.

(10) Then turn right at an acute angle. Follow the west-southwest path to a crossroads taken at the start of the hike.

(1) Turn left and follow the path in the opposite direction to return to the car park at Antras church (S/E).
