Park in the car park in front of the Hôtel Morvandelle, on the D520, on the left bank of the lake near the dam.
(S/E) Head east along the lake. Keep to the left of the lake, following the GR®13 (red and white markings) up its left bank (south-facing).
(1) At Chevigny, opposite Grande Île, continue along the road for approx. 300m, then follow the signs on your left.
(2) Follow the GR® 13 for a short distance, then leave it on your right and follow the Chemin des Lutins path on your left. This short section is fun for children, with discovery panels. After Haut de la Vente, take the left-hand path at a fork. Take the footbridge over the lake, which offers a magnificent view.
(3) Continue along the Chemin des Lutins, which runs alongside the D501.
(4) At Cap des Piscuits, take the road for about 50m. Turn left onto the signposted path. Continue via the footbridge over the lake.
(5) At La Cabane Verte, take the left-hand road and follow it for about 1km. Then take the left-hand path downhill, going along the lake.
(6) At Le Haut Forgeot, continue along the wooded path to the end of the lake, taking several small footbridges over streams.
(7) At the end of the undergrowth, turn left onto the road for about 50m. Take the path on the left (west). Continue through the undergrowth on the signposted path on the right bank of the lake.
(8) At an Intersection, turn left down towards the lake. Follow the lake on your left.
(9) After Domaine des Fontaines, continue on the trail (picnic areas, campsite and beach nearby).
(10) At the water sports centre, continue along the lakeshore.
(11) At the fork in the road, turn left onto the path (yellow marker).
(12) After passing La Sapinière, continue along the path towards Beau Rivage. See the dam.
(13) At the end of the path, turn left and pass over the dam to get back to the starting point (S/E).
