Start from the Valladas car park in the centre of the village.
(S/E) Head towards the Route de Viviers, passing in front of the town hall, and turn left at the roundabout.
(1) Turn right onto Impasse du Merdary. Turn left onto Route de la Gare, then right onto Route de Porterol.
(2) Continue straight ahead and take the path located at a right-angle bend. This runs alongside the Via Rhôna and joins it further on.
(3) Still on the Via Rhôna, turn left to cross the canal and continue to the right. Pass under the power lines and turn left towards the CNR dam bridge.
(4) Just after the bridge, turn left and follow the path alongside the canal.
(5) At the end, make a circular route to return along the canal, which joins the dam road. Follow it to the left to cross the canal.

(6) Turn left towards the Îles du Rhône area and continue along the dirt track to the end of the straight stretch. Possible viewpoint.
(7) Follow the main path, which forms a hairpin bend, and stay on the main track, ignoring the turn-offs to the left and right.
(6) Join the Chemin des Îles departmental road and cross the dam bridge again via the Via Rhôna. Return to the junction encountered on the way out.
(4) Continue along the Via Rhôna, following the reverse route of the outward journey.
(3) Just after the small bridge over the canal, leave the route taken on the way there and turn left.
(8) About 500 m further on, turn right onto a small path which joins the Chemin du Stade.
(9) Continue along the Chemin des Îles at the Y-junction.
(10) Turn right onto Avenue de Montélimar in the centre of Châteauneuf-du-Rhône, then turn left at the roundabout to return to the starting car park (S/E).
. Crossing the dam, the view over the port of Viviers, the mushrooms (boletes), and the walk through the forest or along the canal are all very pleasant.
