Departure from the school car park, behind the town hall, D126A, towards Malataverne. Coach access, toilets and drinking water.
(S/E) Opposite the school, turn right onto the footpath to Place du Temple, home to the Pierres et Mémoire association. Go around it on the right and pass under the porch on the right.
Turn left and walk along the ditch to reach Chemin des Prés Neufs. Turn right, then right again onto Chemin de la Vierge
(1). Turn left at the statue and join Chemin de Maranne. Climb towards the old village until you reach the car park and the "réservoir haut service" signpost.
(2) Continue climbing, then walk along the ramparts on the right and arrive in front of the south gate. Go through the gate, then turn right to leave the enclosure and head towards the fountain.
(3) Leave the fountain on your left, go down the path on the right under a power line, then onto Chemin de Fontvieille. Walk past the old Protestant cemetery (on your left) and Catholic cemetery (on your right).
Go straight down the tarmac road between the houses, then turn right at the next intersection.
(4) At the stop sign, turn left onto Chemin de Rieux and follow it for 1 km until you reach the hamlet (Besson).
(5) Take the parallel forest path that climbs to the right. After the second bend, you will reach a path on the right.
(6) Take this path and follow it until you reach an open area.
(7) After the pine forest and grassy field, continue to the right, following the path parallel to the pipeline. At the electricity pylon, continue straight ahead until you reach the Croix de Siméon, erected in memory of a monk from Aiguebelle who was a missionary in Africa.
(8) Turn left in front of the Croix de Siméon, cross the pipeline and the EDF power line. At the three-way junction, near a lavender field, turn right and you will soon reach a track suitable for vehicles.
(9) Turn left and, after a few metres, pass the Mémorial du Maquis Pierre and continue to the next crossroads with an underground DFCI water tank on your right.
(10) Continue to the left and turn right at the next intersection. Continue along the track and reach the highest point (402 m), which is shared with plot no. 136.
(11) Go straight down and enjoy the view of Cruas, Savasse and the Montélimar plain. At the Échinière post (358 m), go straight down. At the next crossroads, turn left, cross the pipeline right-of-way and arrive at a crossroads at a wide median.
(12) Turn right, then continue straight ahead on the track. Pass to the left of the house, then descend to the barrier. View of the old medieval village.
(13) From the "Fontvieille" signpost (260 m), climb up to the right to enter the old village through the north gate. Cross it, following the markings (safety), and pass in front of the old Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church. Exit through the south gate and turn right.
(2) At the car park, descend to the village via the same route you took on the way up (S/E).
