Petite and Grande Cournouse
Starting from Saint-Martin-en-Vercors, this walk will take you across the plateaus of the Petite and Grande Cournouse to the Bec de Chatelus, a promontory situated directly above the village of Choranche, 600 metres below. You’ll come across several vantage points offering sweeping views down on one side to the Gorges de la Bourne and on the other to the Petits and Grands Goulets, passing close to the Pas de la Charmate, the Pas de Pabro, the Pas des Voûtes and the Pas de l’Allier, without having to cross them as you’ll reach them from above.

Fauge Shelter - Jasse du Play Shelter
This is the longest stage of this traverse, but also the one that marks the entrance to the high plateaus.
Roybon Hut – La Peyrouse Hut
Day2 of a traverse of the Vercors via the balcony path.
From the Jasse du Play to the Baraque du Pison
The second stage of the Vercors crossing. Less elevation gain than the previous day, but still a good distance. However, we’re now properly entering the Vercors plateau, and a map, a compass and a good sense of direction are essential, especially when it’s foggy!
