Start under the bridge that crosses the Vilaine river in Port-de-Roche, in the commune of Langon. Park at the boat stop.
(S/E) Set off along the small road that runs alongside the stop, passing under the bridge. Walk left along the towpath.
(1) After about 650m, leave the towpath and take the path on the right that goes up to the D56, passing under a railway bridge. Turn right onto the D56, then immediately left onto the road that goes up to the village of La Chenac. Cross the village and take the first road on the left as you leave the village. Go straight ahead and take the path that climbs up to a small road.
(2) Turn left, then take the first path on the right. Continue along this path until you reach a small road.
(3) Take the road on the right, then the first path on the left. After 550 metres, turn left onto the wide path. Go downhill and continue until you reach a small road, which you take on the right to arrive at the D59.
(4) Follow the road on the right, then take the first path on the left. Cross a small road near La Touche and continue on the path almost opposite, slightly to the right.
(5) At the junction with a small road, turn left and at the hamlet of Chaumont, continue straight on along the path that climbs uphill. Continue along the path.
(6) Take the hairpin bend to the left onto the path leading to the village of La Chapronnais. Cross the village, then take the road downhill to the right. Turn right, then left and cross the D55 road.
(7) Take the grassy path on the left and continue straight ahead to the village of Le Haut Coudray. Follow the road to the right and continue straight ahead. At the crossroads, take the path opposite towards the hamlet of La Colletterie. At the end of the path, turn right.
(8) Turn left onto a small path that crosses the forest. When you reach the road, continue straight ahead, then take the first path on the left. The path turns right and descends to a road, which you take on the right.
(9) Take the steps on the left, which lead down to an area with picnic tables and pass in front of the Sainte-Mélaine Chapel. Continue along the path. Do not take the path that goes uphill, but turn left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road (D56).
(10) Walk a few metres to the left along the road and then turn right onto the path that leads to the banks of the Vilaine.
(11) Turn left onto the towpath.
(12) Pass under the bridge at Beslé.
(13) Confluence of the Vilaine and Chère rivers. Continue to the Port-de-Roche boating stop (S/E).
