Scherwiller orientation table via the Hühnelmühle

Access by car from the Scherwiller exit, heading towards Châtenois via the D35. At the wide left-hand bend, where the D35 meets Rue Holtzweg, go straight on towards the Hühnelmühle via Rue Holtzweg.
You can park along the vineyards (please ensure you leave access to the plots for the winegrowers), or continue to the Hühnelmühle at point (1) where there are parking spaces available. 

(S/E) Set off towards the Hühnelmühle. After about 1 km, just past the restaurant and shop at the Schmitt vineyard, you’ll reach a crossroads, near a crucifix and signposts for the Club Vosgien.

(1) Head uphill to the right (marked with a Yellow Disc), cross through the forest, and ignore any side paths. After passing a vineyard, continue along the edge of the forest until you reach the next junction.

(2) Head down to the right along a wide path. At the first junction, turn right and continue to the next junction.

(3) Head back up to the right until you reach the information point some 150 metres further on.

(4) Continue uphill, then turn right and then left to reach the path leading to the orientation table.

(5) Turn left to reach it. Then retrace your steps and head down to the left. Turn left again at the next junction, taking the path that goes round the orientation table and leads to another junction.

(6) There are two options:

1. Take the shortcut on the right, which leads straight to the point (7) where you’ll need to turn right, heading due south.

2. The option chosen on the map and in the description: carry on straight ahead and return to the information sign.

(4) Follow the path you took on the way there, but in the opposite direction, until you reach the next junction.

(3) Once back at the junction you passed on the way there, head down to the right until you reach the road, then follow it to the right, heading due south, for about 70 metres.

(7) Continue due south, crossing the next junction. At the following junction, turn right to rejoin Holtzweg and the car park (S/E). 

You can extend the route slightly by taking other paths from (2) towards the Taennelkreuz and its chapel, or from (7) via Holtzweg.
