In the footsteps of the Great War from Souchez

Start from the Pyramide car park, Rue du Cimetière.

(S/E) Exit the car park on the left and head towards Souchez Town Hall on your left. Cross the square, then turn left onto Rue Peri Brosselette. Follow this street until you pass the Jonglez de Ligne Chapel, leaving the entrance to the Château du Carieul on your left.

(1) Turn right at the junction just after that. At the end, turn left onto the path and continue along Rue de Lens. Walk to number 9.

(2) Turn right onto Rue de la Vallée de l’Église, which continues as a path. At the end, turn right to head up to Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and its vast cemetery.

(3) Turn right twice to follow the Chemin du Mont de Lorette, pass under the Anneau de la Mémoire, then return to the road. Cross the road and continue straight ahead, then walk round the cemetery on the right-hand side.

(4) Head to the right to follow the Chemin du Bois du Mont.

(5) Turn right to head down the Vallée de la Cense and reach a junction near a football pitch.

(6) Turn right, carry on straight ahead until you reach the tarmac road and come out onto Boulevard Mancino (D57).

(7) Cross the road and carry on across the fields along the path opposite.

(8) Turn left at the junction, then take the first small road on the right. Carry straight on through the bend to take a path that slopes gently downwards, leading onto Rue du Moulin.

(9) Turn left. Turn right onto Rue Joliot Curie, then left at the junction, staying on the same street to reach Rue Roger Salengro. Turn left to reach Rue Pasteur (D58) in Carency.

(10) First turn right then left to follow Rue de Castellane; reach the junction by Saint-Aignan Church and carry straight on. Pass the cemetery and arrive at a junction in the open countryside.

(11) Turn left and follow the GR®127-145 straight on to reach the car park (S/E).
