The Vimy Woods

Start from the Pyramide car park, Rue Carnot.

(S/E) Leave the car park, cross Rue Carnot at the pedestrian crossing and head opposite along Rue du 8 Mai 1945 until you reach Rue Victor Hugo.

(1) Turn right and continue straight on along Chemin des Écouloirs.

(2) Pass the entrance to the British cemetery on your right and continue alongside the motorway until you reach a Fork in the road.

(3) Keep right onto Chemin des Carrières and continue straight on until you reach Rue Verte.

(4) Turn left and continue straight on until you reach the end of the road at Rue du Canada.

(5) Follow this road up, then take the third right onto Rue de Vimy, and continue straight on until you reach the bridge over the motorway.

(6) Cross the bridge, then pass a track on your left and follow a path that runs through a narrow clearing in the woods. You will then enter the woodland and come to a Fork in the road.

(7) Follow the path on the left, then cross the road and take the side lane on the right. Continue straight on at the second bend until you reach a fork.

(8) Keep left, continue straight on until you emerge from the woodland and reach the memorial.

(9) Turn right to go round the memorial. Then keep to the left until you rejoin the Route des Canadiens.

(10) Follow it to the right, then, at the stud farm, take the path on the left and head towards the underpass beneath the motorway.

(11) Continue straight on until you reach the Fork in the road.

(12) Turn left and return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(1) Go straight on to reach the car park (S/E).

(Alternative 1) At point (9), turn right, then after the second bend take the path on the right; continue down towards Givenchy; at the bottom, turn left into Rue Lamartine, then left into Rue Charles Ferrand, then turn left into Rue Pierre Curie and head back up to point (10)
