The starting point is in Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise in the Doue car park, Rue de la Doue.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the street leading down to the right onto Boulevard du Docteur André Margot, then turn left onto the steps of Chemin des Oiseaux and cross the road.
(1) Opposite, take the Chemin de Saint-Jacques, which leads to the banks of the Orzon.
(2) Follow the stream. Here you will find the “Le Calvaire” climbing site. The large mill is at the junction with the D4.
(3) Follow the D-road to the right. Cross the Coise and then the Couzon, pass a road on the left and arrive at a crossroads.
(4) Leave the D-road and take the Chemin de la Lissendière opposite. Continue to a fork near a cross.
(5) Turn left onto a path, cross the Route de la Montagne, take the Chemin de la Regardoux opposite and pass through this hamlet. You will arrive at the hamlet of Ramarey.
(6) Pass through this hamlet, turning right. At the four-way junction, take the path furthest to the left. Cross the Bois de la Frary. On emerging, join the Route de la Montagne.
(7) Cross a road, continue straight on along Route de la Montagne (south-east) then take the path on the right which passes by the Pierre de Samson.
(8) Continue due south to the Chemin des Prés, following it for about a hundred metres.
(9) Turn left towards the north-east, continuing straight on until you rejoin the Route de la Montagne.
(10) Cross it and take the path opposite. At the hamlet of Ravarin, cross the access road and continue along the path opposite until you reach the D3.
(11) Cross it carefully and follow the Impasse du Terrasson opposite. Turn right onto the path running alongside the house. At the end of the path, turn left onto the road and cross the bridge over the Couzon.
(12) Continue along a path, then, at Route de Lupin, turn left and pass through the hamlet of Lupin. Head towards the hamlet of La Grande Val.
(13) Turn right to go round the hamlet and continue until you reach Impasse du Grand Val.
(14) Turn left, then, at Route de la Valletière, turn left and follow the road along the planned route. Turn right at Impasse de la Salette.
(15) Turn left towards the Chapelle de la Salette.
(16) Retrace your steps.
(15) Turn left onto the path, heading due north, to reach Petit Val.
(17) Turn left then take the path on the right, cross the D71 with care to take the path opposite. When you reach a crossroads, turn left towards the Route du Pont Neuf.
(18) Follow it to the right, cross the River Coise and turn left onto the Chemin des Pinasses.
(19) Walk alongside the Parc des Pinasses, turn left to take the path immediately on the right which runs alongside the Coise.
(20) Turn left onto Chemin des Garennes, which joins the D4; follow this to the left until you reach the junction from the outward journey.
(3) Turn right and retrace your steps along the outbound route to reach the Doue car park on the right (S/E).
