Description of the walk

Park in the Gimond Dam car park.

(S/E) With your back to the dam, take the Chemin du Viricel.

(1) Pass through the hamlet of Viricel and, at the Y-junction, head left towards Aveize. You will reach the intersection marked by the "la planche" signpost, which is also the junction of the circular route.

(2) Continue left until you reach the D34.

(3) Facing two crosses facing each other, carefully cross the Route de Grezieu-le-Marché and take the path diagonally opposite.

(4) Once you reach the gates of a meadow near Chenève, take the path on the left that joins Chemin de Chenève. Follow this path in the same direction for about 100 metres, then turn left onto another path.

(5) At the "Bois de Huras" marker, continue straight ahead.

(6) At the "les Esparcieux" marker, take the path on the left that passes in front of the cross, then turn right before reaching the houses. Carefully cross the Route de l'Argentière (D61) to rejoin the path opposite, which leads to the departmental road further on.

(7) Keep left on Impasse des Guillermières.

(8) At the "le noisetier" marker, take the path on the left, then immediately take the path on the right and continue along Chemin du Noisetier. Continue to the next crossroads.

(9) Turn right onto Rue des Étangs. Carefully cross Route du Pont Grizon to take Rue de la Goutte opposite.

(10) At the next crossroads, at the "la Goutte" marker, turn right onto the dead-end street called Rue de la Goutte. You will come to a crossroads at the Argentière Medical Centre.

(11) Cross carefully: bend and poor visibility. Take Route du Pont Grizon opposite, continue for a few dozen metres, then turn right onto a path that enters the woods. You will reach a fork: "la Font de l'Église" marker.

(12) Continue straight ahead towards Aveize.

(13) Turn left and walk a few metres, passing the "Croix Michel" signpost. At the crossroads, turn right towards Chazelle-sur-Lyon. Follow the road to the junction with the D34.

(14) Cross it carefully and take the Chemin des Ornages opposite. At the crossroads (cross), go straight ahead and, at the end of the road, take a path straight ahead, which continues on to La Planche, a circular path.

(2) Take the same path back in the opposite direction to return to the car park at the starting point (S/E).
