Park in the car park in front of the Crèche de la Renardière nursery. You can also park in the Renardière residential complex if there are no public parking spaces near the shops.
(S/E) Walk along the municipal pétanque court in Les Pennes Mirabeau on your left and continue for a few dozen metres. Cross the small bridge on your right to enter the residence, turn left, then left again to cross the field. Join the Chemin de Marthe Ouest and follow it to the right until you reach the inverted Y-shaped junction.
(1) Turn left at the hairpin bend and then climb, keeping to the left, until you reach the fire barrier.
The first part of the walk, which is about to begin, will be just as surprising, but much more rugged. It is therefore not recommended for very young children or elderly people.
Indeed, within a few metres, the landscape changes radically. There are no more flowers, but large trees with dense branches that the sun struggles to penetrate. The atmosphere quickly becomes cooler, even exotic. However, to get there, you have to take a steep path and rustic steps that lead to a kind of stone bridge where the Marthe spring is located.
(2) Continue climbing up to the Barnouins plateau. Once on the plateau, turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach a T-junction, where you turn right to join the Allée des Lauriers.
(3) Turn left for about 50 metres, then turn right, following the wall of a property on your right. Leave the tarmac road at the bend and continue straight ahead. The path slopes to the right and then joins a crossroads at an electricity pylon. Turn left and follow the power line.
Further on, descend to the right into the Ravin de la Cardeline.
(4) Climb back up to join Chemin des Vanades. Turn left, go through the fire barrier and descend to another electricity pylon.
(5) Descend to the right into the hollows, following the power line, until you reach the Source de l'Infernet. Turn left to reach it.
(6) Turn your back on the spring and head west. The path quickly turns south-west, then south, and eventually leads to Chemin des Pinchinades.
(7) Turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the roundabout at the sports complex.
(8) Continue straight ahead, staying on Chemin des Pinchinades, and do the same at the next roundabout. Pass La Renardière primary school on your left and continue to the inverted Y-shaped crossroads.
Turn left onto Chemin du Pas de la Mue, ignore the dead end on the right, then turn right onto the next street to reach the car park (S/E).
