On the D9, take the Les Pinchinades exit, exit 10 coming from Aix-en-Provence or exit 11 coming from Vitrolles. Head towards the Les Collets Rouges equestrian centre. Park in the Magenta car park, to the left of the equestrian centre.
(S/E) Follow the DFCI track (tarmac road) heading north. After a sharp left turn, go through the gate and head west. You will come to a Y-junction.
(1) Turn right towards the north-east and pass a square concrete cistern surrounded by wire fencing. 120 m further on, at the corner of the fence, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the track and then zigzags away from it towards the north-east. Pass an observation post. Enjoy beautiful views of Pouchon Hill and, further away, the Étoile mountain range. You will arrive at a T-junction.
(2) Turn right onto a short rocky descent lined with "hunting reserve" signs. You will arrive at the bottom of a small valley and a DFCI track.
(3) Turn right onto this track, which runs alongside a stream bed. You will come to an X-shaped crossroads.
(4) Turn left, heading north. Continue for about 150 metres until you reach an X-shaped crossroads and a hunters' car park.
(5) Continue straight ahead, following the path that runs alongside the DFCI track on the right, then on the left, crossing it at elevation 173. You will arrive at the left of a Y-junction at elevation 184.
(6) Stay on the path to the left of the track, which rejoins it after elevation 192. Stay on this track (on the right is the fence of the "Les Pradaux" estate). You will arrive at a multi-path junction at elevation 200.
(7) Turn left and follow the path closest to the Rognac cliffs. Admire the landscape. Walk for about 500 m and look for a path on the left.
(8) Follow this path, cross the GR®2013 trail at elevation 206, then, at the signpost, follow the direction "Plateau du Grand Arbois". You will arrive at a Y-junction.
(9) Keep to the right, following the sign for "Salvarenque Le Grenadier", and you will come to a T-junction.
(10) Turn right towards "Le Grenadier" as indicated by a sign. Follow the long straight track, ignoring the paths branching off to the left and right. The track then becomes more winding and stony, descending into a small valley before climbing back up again. You will come to a junction with a track at an elevation of 194 metres.
(11) Turn left downhill to a crossroads and a barrier (private property).
(12) Turn left and follow the path that runs along the fence of the private property. You will arrive at a hollow. On the left, there is a house and some plantations. Look for a path on the right leading to a valley.
(13) Turn right onto this path, then quickly turn right at a fork onto a balcony path. Cross a stream bed and rejoin the GR®2013 trail.
14) Turn left onto the trail and return to the intersection from the outward journey.
(1) Follow the same route back and return to the car park (S/E).
