Sorgues walks

A family-friendly walk exploring the Island of Oiselet and the banks of the Rhône.

A very easy walk. The first part up to the dam, very pleasant and shady. There's not shade on second part until you arrive, so wear hats in sunny weather. Numerous birds and in particular grey herons, cormorants, swans etc. are visible near the water and on the banks of the Rhone.

A short, easy walk for a family outing. In good weather you can see the parachutists jump over the Pujaut aerodrome.

City walk to discover Avignon, the unmissable Saint-Bénezet bridge and the Palais des Papes, but also all the lesser known historical monuments that are worth a visit.

Discover Thor, located downstream from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, which benefits from the many sorghums flowing from the resurgence of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. On one of the few hills in the Comtat Venaissin plain, a little way from the town, stands the Château de Thouzon and, in its lower part, the caves of the same name.

A short family walk on the heights of Velleron to discover numerous dry-stone terraces in reasonably good condition.

This walk allows you to discover the few wheels still present but also to enjoy the clarity of these waters frequented by mallards, swans and chars. A hike for everyone. You will find typical Mediterranean vegetation, protected flora and fauna. Equip yourself with good walking shoes and water. Respect nature and the silence (take your rubbish with you). Making fires, picking flowers and wild camping are strictly prohibited. Only follow the waymarking colours mentioned in the description.

A pretty walk around Saumane-de-Vaucluse. Fine scenery and troglodytic dwellings. Since a lot of the walk is in the shade of the forest, it is pleasant in hot weather.

A walk in the hills of La Montagnette, setting out from Saint Michel de Frigolet abbey.

Following the paths that wind through the rows of vines, this tour takes you to the foot of the rocky bars of the Dentelles de Montmirail, finely chiselled against the Provencal sky, with Mont Ventoux as a backdrop. In Aramon, a village along the Rhone near Avignon, the capitelles trail takes you around a couple of these shelters created by the shepherds and farmers.

A short loop to discover these two characteristic rock formations as well as Saint-Christophe's Chapel, which protects the site, taking a less conventional route.

A hike against the backdrop of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, taking you through the village of Barroux to admire the castle and the beautiful views of the valley. The walk then continues past Paty lake and chapel.

A very beautiful, mostly flat trail through holm oak trees, alternating between shaded passages and panoramic views of the surrounding plains and hills. A visit to Caesar's Camp will add a touch of history to the end of the trail.

Starting from Chusclan, this is a hike over different types of terrain (tarmacked paths between vineyards, DFCI trails, single-track paths, etc.). Viewpoints over the Rhone Valley and Mont Ventoux. Visit to the medieval site of Gicon.

A pleasant trail, largely in the shade of the forest, to explore Lagnes, its landscapes and points of interest.

Starting from Sainte-Madeleine Abbey at Barroux, this is quite a wild route offering many views over Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the surrounding plains.

Superb cliff-side walk. Views of Les Taillades, Robion and Cavaillon.

A fine loop starting from Les Taillades. You will walk through varied scenery such as the Source of the Boulon, the cliffs of the Petit Luberon, the Rochers de Baude cliff and the Badarel Gorge, the Carpentras Canal and the old village.
