Park in the Vanades car park in Pujaut.
(S/E) Follow the Chemin des Vanades (eastwards). Climb the path to reach theGR®42at Les Vanades.
(1) Turn right onto it, then follow the red and white markings. Pass the hamlet of Carles to reach the junction with the Chemin de Carles.
(2) Leave theGR® here, turn left onto the Chemin de Carles and quickly turn right at the next junction to join the Chemin des Perrières. You will reach a path junction.
(3) Take the path on the left and walk past the old quarries. Go round the south side of the Mas de Carles to the Perrières cemetery.
(4) Turn left back onto Chemin des Perrières and reach a four-way junction.
(5) Head straight ahead, north-east, along the Chemin du Devois and then enter the forest to reach the junction leading to Château Pointu.
(6) Turn right to reach the summit of Château Pointu.
(7) Return to the previous crossroads.
(6) Go round the Sauveterre quarry to the west, following the fence, and arrive at a multi-way junction on the edge of the Bois de la Montagne.
(8) Turn 90° to the right, then enter the forest again and reach the Sauveterre cliffs.
(9) Head towards the hamlet of Four to the north-west. Join a road. Turn left onto it, then turn right (D242) for 30 m and join the Chemin de la Bergerie de Four.
(10) Turn left onto it, go round the Moulin du Four and join the Chemin du Mourillon. At the junction with the Chemin de Loriau, take the Chemin du Mas de Granel straight ahead, then take the Sentier de la Castanière (a steep climb for about a hundred metres) to arrive beneath the Carnas rocks.
(11) Take the path on the right, go round the cliffs and pass in front of the old quarries. Head back up towards the Chemin de la Castanière.
(12) Follow it for about 300 m. Turn left onto the Impasse des Heaths for 50 m, then left again onto the Chemin de Bertagnac for 200 m. Then continue right onto the Chemin du Moulin à Huile (West). Cross the Chemin de la Poste and turn right onto the Chemin de l'Ermite. Cross theGR®42to find the Chapelle Saint-Vérédème immediately afterwards.
(13) Walk past the Saint-Vérédème farm and take Chemin de la Drovers' Road to Chemin du Château.
(14) Cross this and immediately turn left onto the parallel path to the old windmill, then head towards the Vierge viewpoint.
(15) Take the winding footpath which leads to Rue Haute. Turn left towards Chemin des Dervettes then right towards the church. Walk past the Town Hall along Rue du Cardinal Pierre Bertrandi. Turn right onto Rue sous le Vallat, then left and cross Place de la Poste to the primary school. Turn left onto Rue des Félibres, then right onto Rue Frédéric Mistral to reach the Vanades car park (S/E).
