Castles in the Hainaut countryside
The vast, gently rolling countryside of this part of Hainaut is dotted with isolated farms scattered between villages and hamlets.The horizon is often blocked by trees, sometimes arranged in copses, sometimes in rows along paths or village streets, and sometimes grouped together in woods, such as those of Cambron or La Provision. And then, here and there, hidden around a bend in the road, you will find a castle or two.

The trails of Biévène
Walk starting from the Basse Couture stud farm in Bois-de-Lessines, passing through various dirt tracks in Biévène. The route does not pass through the centre of Biévène, but it is possible to get there by taking a short detour of 5 to 10 minutes.

Around the old railway line from Rognon
The walk, which starts at the old Rognon station, takes you through the surrounding countryside and, at the end, follows just over two kilometres of the old line 123.Straddling the provinces of Walloon Brabant and Hainaut, the main features are a gently undulating landscape, fairly distant villages and, between them, a habitat that is both omnipresent and very scattered: numerous private dwellings and isolated farms or small hamlets.

Gottignies is a beautiful village in the municipality of Le Roeulx, nestled between two hills. The Church of St Léger has just been renovated.
Several walking routes are available. Here, the 20 km route is used by the village walking group "Les Marcheurs Gottignards".
