(S) From the Saint-Yorre-Nouvel-Hôtel bus stop on the D906E Avenue de Vichy, in Saint-Yorre, walk a few metres towards Vichy, then turn left onto Rue du Marché. You will come to Rue du Commandant Romon. Turn left and follow the road, passing the town hall on your left, and continue straight on Rue de Verdun. Cross the railway line via a bridge and continue straight ahead along Rue de Stalingrad.
(1) Turn right onto Rue des Sources at the bottling plant. Further on, note the beautiful house with yellow shutters and the old factory buildings on the left. Further on, still on the left side of the street, there is a mansion with turrets. Shortly afterwards, take the promenade that runs alongside the road. Further on, ignore the street on the left that leads to the waste disposal centre and, just before passing under the railway line, note the commemorative stele on the left.
(2) Take the André Monnot Trail, which passes in front of this memorial to the athlete. The trail first runs alongside the Ruisseau des Andraux stream on the left, then the railway line on the right and above. Further on, the stream flows into the Allier and the trail continues with the river on the left. A little further on, it veers away from the river to continue slightly above the floodplains that border the Allier.
(3) Pass under a railway bridge. Shortly afterwards, the trail converges with theGR®®463, which arrives from the right. Follow thisGR®® to Vichy. Arrive at the leisure areas on the banks of the Allier near the village of Abrest and continue on the trail that follows the Allier as closely as possible.
(4) At the campsite, continue to the left to follow a bend in the river that goes around the Presqu'île de la Croix-Saint-Martin. Further on, pass to the left of a water treatment plant and continue on the path between the Allier and a road. Arrive at the first park in Vichy, the Parc des Bourins.
(5) Continue through the park as you wish, either along the Allier or following the paths to discover some beautiful trees. Pass to the left of Parc du Soleil, which is surrounded by and intended for children. Further on, cross a small road that leads to a car park by the river.
(6) Turn right. You will arrive on Boulevard du Président Kennedy with the University Centre in front of you and the entrance to Parc des Célestins on your left. Enter the park and head left to find the Source des Célestins pavilion. Admission and tasting are free. Return to the park and continue left into Parc Kennedy, where you can stroll at your leisure between the banks of the Allier and the paths winding through the trees. Further on, closer to the boulevard than the river and near a pond, is a bust of Madame de Sévigné, a famous spa visitor.
(7) Shortly afterwards, cross Avenue Aristide Briand at the Pont de Bellerive bridge over the Allier. Then continue on the other side, in Parc Napoléon III. Further on, notice the houses on the right-hand side of the park. These are the Chalets Napoléon. Turn right to reach Boulevard des États-Unis and follow it to the left to pass in front of some of these chalets.
(8) Turn right onto Rue Prunelle and you will arrive opposite the Parc Thermal. Follow it to the left, taking the covered walkway to arrive in front of the thermal spa. Enter the lobby, which has a large pool in the centre. Leave the spa and head left to the Hall des Sources. There is a free entrance on Rue Lucas. Free tasting. Leave the Hall des Sources and turn right onto Rue du Président Wilson.
(9) Turn left onto Passage de l'Amirauté, cross Rue Georges Clémenceau and continue straight ahead on Rue de l'Hôtel des Postes to reach Place Charles de Gaulle. Cross the square and turn left onto Avenue du Président Doumer, which leads to Vichy train station. Turn right onto Avenue des Célestins and continue for about 50 metres to reach the bus station (E).
