Remersdael – Mortroux

Set off from the Remersdael campsite on the edge of the N648.

(S) Turn your back on the campsite entrance and walk alongside the N648. Take the path that branches off to the left after house number 41. In the woods, at the first junction, carry on straight ahead. At the second and third junctions, carry on straight ahead. The path descends and then emerges from the woods. Junction with hiking node 75.

(1) Continue along the left-hand branch until you reach a road. Turn right onto it. Carry on until you reach a four-way junction. Continue along the left-hand road, then turn right at the following Y-junction, hiking node 64.

(2) Turn right again just as the street makes a right-angle bend, hiking node 63. At the next junction, when the street makes another right-angle bend to the right, carry on straight ahead along the path. Further on, it makes a right-angle bend to the left and descends to a road.

(3) Turn right, then take the first street on the left. Walk past the commandery until you reach the next offset junction. First turn left then right to stay on the same route as the previous street. The street climbs steeply to reach a path at the edge of a wood, hiking node 57.

(4) Take the path on the right. At the edge of the woodland, hiking junction 56, the path turns left and descends steeply to join another path at the bottom of the valley. First turn right then left and head back up the opposite side to a road at Winerotte

(5) Turn right then left again to join the path leading into the woods. At the T-junction in the woods, turn left. At the next junction, take the path on the right to reach the N608.

(6) Turn left, then take the first right, turn right again, and follow the path to the left to reach a road.

(7) Turn left and enter Neufchâteau. Take the first street on the right. At the next junction, make the first turn right then left.

(8) Follow Rue du Vicinal to the left. At the next junction, the road continues to the left and then takes a long right-hand bend, joining the N650. Follow it to the right and take the first street on the left, Rue Davipont.

(9) Follow it to the left and cross the Berwinne. Continue to the next bridge over the Ruisseau d’Asse (E).

Shortly after point (3), visit the Commandery’s garden. However, to do so, you must purchase something (food or drink) from the on-site establishment.
