(S) From the Mottets refuge, head opposite along a series of hairpin bends to climb a spur, pass a ruin, then leave the path leading to the Seigne chalet on your right. The slope becomes less steep and, after a long straight climb, you reach the Seigne border pass (2,516 m).
(1) Descend through the wide valley of the Lée Blanche. Cross a few ravines and then a large torrent at the foot of a rock (snowfields). Take the track that passes near an old renovated military building called the Casermetta du Col de la Seigne (2,365m). Reach the upper Alpe de la Lée Blanche (2,285m).
(2) Follow a path that descends at first and then levels out to finally reach the lower Alpe de la Lée Blanche (2,035 m).
(3) Take the stony road that winds downhill and then runs alongside the vast marshland with its varied alpine flora, known as Lac de Combal.
(4) The valley narrows and is closed off downstream by the colossal moraine formed by the Miage glacier. Reach the Combal lake reservoir (1975m). Leave the road and take the path that climbs steeply to the sheepfolds of Arp Vieille Inférieure.
Follow the steepest line and climb through the pasture, parallel to a stream, to the Arp Supérieur chalet (2,303 m).
(5) Go around the chalet and continue climbing to the left. At around 2,430m, you will reach the north ridge of Mont Favre (steep) and descend into a large basin fed by a torrent coming from the Col du Youla. Continue north-east. After the small Lac des Vesses, the balcony trail begins a long descent.
Pass under the cables of a ski lift and reach the Lac du Chécrouit (2,165m).
(6) The trail continues along the ridge, losing altitude, passing under the chairlift line and reaching the Col du Chécrouit (1,956m) where the Refuge Maison Vieille is located (E).
