Comapedrosa Refuge - El Serrat

(S) From the refuge, descend the track northwards to the small pass of Comapedrosa.

(1) Turn right onto the E15 Pyrenean trail. The trail crosses a stream just before entering the Barrer d'Areny forest.

(2) At the first intersection, turn left, then cross the Comapedrosa stream and, 100 m further on, the Pollos stream. You will arrive at a track suitable for vehicles.

(3) Take it to the left and leave the E15 Pyrenean trail to stay on the GRP® La Volta a Andorra. Stay on this track for 500 metres, passing close to Borda de les Agunes and Font del Moixó, until you reach the end of a small clearing in the forest.

(4) Leave the track by turning right and stay on the GRP® La Volta a Andorra. The trail heads north-west to reach another clearing and the hamlet of Borda de la Coruvilla.

(5) Leave the GRP® and turn right towards the east to return to the forest 80 m further on. Then, 1 km further on, the path turns north-east. Leave the forest and, 200 m after crossing the Torrent Ribal, you will reach a crossroads.

(6) Turn right towards the south-east and the hamlet of Bordes dels Prats, which you will need to pass through.

(7) After the hamlet, take a small path on the left that runs along the northern edge of the forest before entering it again 400 m further on. The path turns south-east towards Coll de les Cases, located in a clearing where many paths meet.

(8) Take the leftmost path, which is the E15 Pyrenean trail towards Arans: there is a signpost at the pass. Stay on this steep E15 trail until you reach Arans, shortly after leaving the forest.

(9) At Carrer de les Ribes, turn right onto the road, then 50 m further on, turn left through an opening in the roadside barrier to pass between the buildings. Pass this hamlet and cross the CG3 road between two restaurants: La Tulipa and Classic Arans. Then cross the Tristagne stream (or Valira del Nord).

(10) Immediately after crossing the stream, turn left towards the north and leave the E14 Pyrenean trail to follow the stream on its eastern bank without straying too far from it (no more than 100 m).

(11) Still on the east bank of the stream, once you reach the Pont de les Mines bridge, turn left to join the CG3 road. Turn left onto the road heading south-west, then cross the Pont de les Mines bridge and pass in front of the La Neu brewery and its car park.

(12) Leave the road and continue right on the GRP® la Volta a Andorra heading north and passing behind the brewery. The trail continues along the edge of the forest and on the west bank of the Tristagne stream to a place called Les Salines.

(13) Leave the GRP® and continue straight ahead, crossing a small roundabout marked on the ground, and head north on Carrer de les Truites. At the end of this street, continue straight ahead on the track and continue along the west bank of the stream to rejoin the GRP® just before the Ribollisa Bridge.

(14) Turn right onto it, then cross the Tristagne stream via the bridge towards El Serrat. Cross the CG3 once more and continue between the buildings before rejoining the CG3 road for the last time. Follow it to the right until you reach the El Pradet hotel (E).

Note: you will need a hiking app and a GPX track to avoid getting lost among the many crossroads on this stage.

The hotel allocated in El Serrat during this itinerary will depend on availability if you have booked your nights on the website. Here, the hotel booked is in El Pradet, but there are others in the town and the end of this stage will be slightly different depending on the hotel.
