Description of the walk

Start: Cinderdale Common car park, B5289 along Crummock water, (CA13 9UY) Grid ref. NY 162 193

(S/E) From the car park, take the footpath (South-Est) going toward Rannerdale Bridge. Continue on this path across fields until reaching a foot bridge.

(1) Cross the river, then take left to follow Squat Beck on your left-hand side. Keep straight on this path slowly going up until reaching an intersection with several paths.

(2) Take right and then again right to walk toward Rannerdale Knotts and continue until the cairn and summit.

(3) Passing Rannerdale Knotts keep straight and then turn left to take the path going down. (There are some scrambling around that area). Keep going down then turn right at the next intersection of paths and right again a couple of meters after. Keep on that path until reaching the road and little car park.

(4) Turn right (North-East) and continue on this path until reaching the footbridge.

(1) Turn left to cross it and then left again to walk back to the car park. (S/E)

Terrain: Grassy and rocky path. A bit of scrambling around Rannerdale knotts summit and to go down.

Dog friendly: Yes, however sheep are often in the fields and some scrambling near Rannerdale Knotts summit.
