Departure: Cénevières, left bank of the Lot between Cajarc and Cahors. Parking behind the town hall.
(S/E) Leave the car park on the right onto the D24.
(1) At the first crossroads, turn left onto the D8 and head towards the church. Cross a bridge over the Girou with a wash house on your left, which is usually flooded. Continue straight ahead and turn right onto a grassy path that climbs uphill.
(2) At the end of the path, turn right towards the Château de Cénevières and then right again just before it. Then leave two paths on your right and take a steep climb that leads to the top of the cliff. Once there, you can admire the Lot valley on your left with the villages of Calvignac and Larnagol in the distance and a landscape of limestone plateaus and valleys on your right. Continue, ignoring all the paths coming from the right and left.
(3) You will arrive at the hamlet of Le Clouquier, which has some beautiful restored buildings. Take the path on the left just before you reach the D143. About ten metres further on, cross the D143 and take the path lined with low walls and box trees, to the left of an empty cistern. Further on, this path crosses a ruined hamlet.
(4) At the end, follow the small road down towards Calvignac. On the right, you will see a modern building that is more or less finished.
(5) At the next crossroads, turn right and immediately after, left onto a stony path which you follow downhill. On the left (signpost), there are shepherds' huts built into a wall. This path turns into a track, then a small road, which enters Calvignac. On the left, there are views of the valley; in the foreground is the Calvignac communal land and, in the distance, the Château de Cénevières and the troglodyte village of La Toulzanie.
(6) After a beautiful dovecote, arrive at the town hall and take the stairs on the right before it to go up into the village. Go to a cross and pass under a porch, then go up to the church. From the church, go back down, keeping to the right, and go up to the viewpoint (signpost). From there, descend, passing to the left of a tiny house that has been restored as part of a heritage preservation project. You will arrive at the road (D143), which you take to the right towards the Lot and continue downhill. You will see a bridge over the canal of a hydroelectric plant (former mill).
(7) Cross the bridge and continue through the valley until you reach the bridge over the Lot. Cross this bridge and turn left onto the D662 towards Larnagol.
(8) In front of the church, enter Larnagol via Rue du Château and continue straight ahead. At the sign for "mairie, salle des fêtes" (town hall, village hall), turn left. In front of the town hall, descend to the right, following the winding road and then the steps. Return to the church and the Lot via the narrow streets.
(8) Back on the D662, turn right.
(9) 600m further on, take the second small tarmac road on the left, which turns into a track, ignoring everything on the right and left. You are now in the alluvial plain: on your left is the hilltop village of Calvignac; ahead, overlooking the Lot, is the Château de Cénevières and, scattered across the plain, are hangars with closed shutters, former tobacco drying rooms. Pass the hamlet of Sorrolié.
(10) Turn left and 200 metres further on, turn right, following the river.
(11) Ahead, near a house, there is a curious rocky outcrop and a path on the left. Take this path to return to the D662.
(12) Turn left and cross the troglodyte village of La Toulzanie, then pass under the bridge of the old Cahors-Figeac railway line via Capdenac.
(13) At the place called La Teulière, turn left at the roundabout, cross the Lot and return to the car park (S/E).
