Park in the church square.
(S/E) To the right of the church, take the small road that climbs towards Les Trincades.
(1) After the big left turn, take the path (entrance protected by metal posts) that climbs up to the left. Follow the gently sloping path. On your right are the ruins of small farmhouses
(2) On the plateau, after a patch of undergrowth, you will come to the path from Mas de Dada to Mas de Castanet on your left. Continue straight ahead. After 100 m, you will see the last ruins of a small farmhouse, then a field entrance on your right. Continue until you see Mas de Castanet in the distance.
(3) Take the path on the right until you reach the road to go around Mas de Castanet (blue arrow). When you reach the road, turn left and go up for 100 m, then turn right onto a path that descends between dry stone walls.
(4) 20 m after the start of a left-hand bend, take the path that descends into the woods on the right. At the bottom of the valley, take a dirt track lined with box trees. Ignore the path on the right that leads to Mas Merlin. At the next fork, turn right. 200 m further on is the Fond Nègre spring.
(5) Retrace your steps to find the path through the valley and turn left to reach the road (D143) 200 m further on.
(6) Cross and take the path towards Mémerlin-bas. The path climbs to the left. After 100 m, take the path that climbs to the right. Follow this path to the hamlet of Mémerlin-haut. Cross the hamlet and continue to a road.
(7) Turn right. You are now in front of Mas de Gibert. Pass a water reservoir (on your left) and follow the grassy path on your left. At the first bend, ignore a path on your right and continue downhill for 700 m.
(8) A little further on, turn right onto the path. You will have the cliff on your right and the valley on your left. Climb this path, which will take you to a ledge overlooking the Lot valley. Be careful, it is steep. You are at the end of the world!
(9) At the end of this path, you will come to a hairpin bend in the road. Continue straight ahead on a path that descends. After a hairpin bend, you will come to a road. Turn left and continue downhill towards the place called Le Ruisseau. The campsite is on your right. Opposite you is the mill. On your right, in the niche in the wall, look for the rogation cross.
Follow the D662 to Place de l'Église (S/E).
Excellent short hike. At the start and end, do not follow the route on the map along the departmental road, which can be dangerous on sunny days with lots of motorhomes and cars travelling to and from St-Cirq-Lapopie.
