Description of the walk

From the Aosta-Turin motorway (A5), exit at Châtillon. Take the SR46 towards Valtournenche/Breuil Cervinia. Stop at the hamlet of Buisson at the cable car car park. Take the Buisson-Chamois cable car.
The start and finish of this hike are located in the town square between the Buisson-Chamois cable car arrival point and the town hall.

From the town square, go to the chairlift station and take a ticket for the first two sections, Corgnolaz-Lago di Lod-Tappa.

(S) From the Tappa chairlift station, take the trail directly opposite and climb up to Colle di Fontana Freda.

(1) Turn right and follow the Santuario Clavalité trail. Pass the Falinère chairlift station and head towards the Santuario Clavalité.

(2) From the Santuario, follow the ridge to the junction with trail No. 3B towards Punta Falinère.

(3) Begin the ascent to Punta Falinère. Follow the trail on the left up a grassy slope to reach a secondary summit. Continue along a ridge trail before tackling the final climb up the rocks. Be careful on a few tricky sections in the last hundred metres (rated T3).

(4) Enjoy the view from the summit of more than 4000 Swiss peaks, including the Matterhorn to the north, the Gran Paradiso massif and Monte Emilius to the south, and the Petit and Grand Tournalin to the east. Return to the fork by the same route.

(3) Turn left and follow the path eastwards. Leave Lago Falinère on your right and continue to Ru Cleva Bella, cross it and join Sentiero N°3A, which descends from Col de Nannaz.

(5) Head south then west, following the Ru Cleva Bella to reach the eponymous alp.

(6) At the ruins of a barn, look for a sign on the ground indicating Chamois at 1 hour. Take Sentiero N°4 and go around a marshy area. Descend towards Alpe Foressus. Follow the Torrente Chamois until you come to a fork.

(7) Continue downhill on the Foressus-Cort trail, staying on the right bank of the Torrente Chamois. You will come to a wooden bridge.

(8) Cross the Torrente Chamois and follow it on the left bank until you reach the Moulin bridge.

(9) Cross the Torrente Chamois again and gradually return to the centre of Chamois until you reach the town square. (E)
