Petit Leu Walk

(S/E) On the Place du Bourg, with your back to the library, head left onto the path next to the bakery. At the end of this path, turn right in front of the school.

(1) At the end of Rue du Mothois, continue straight ahead along the path. On the flat stretch after the stream, veer to the right.

(2) After crossing the footbridge, take the path to the right which runs alongside the Leu stream. At the end of the path, take the road to the left for 200 m.

(3) Take the limestone path to the right towards Le Briou. At the end of the path, carry on straight ahead along the small road, then keep to the right and turn left immediately to pass in front of the water tower.

(4) When you reach the first houses, take the path to the right. At the river’s edge, head right and follow the riverbank straight on. Just before the leisure area, turn left onto the footbridge and return to the village’s central square (S/E).

- On the village’s main square (Place du Bourg): public toilets, drinking fountain, café and grocery shop.

- The leisure area (known as ‘R de loisirs’): picnic tables.

The Neuvy-en-Sullias hoard: discovered in the village in 1861, this hoard represents one of the most remarkable collections of bronze statues from the Gallic period ever found in France. It is on display at the Museum of History and Archaeology in the Hôtel Cabu in Orléans. Whilst the centrepiece is a horse over one metre tall, several figurines depict elegant, dynamic poses, such as the juggler and the tall dancer. In the garden adjoining Neuvy Town Hall, a permanent exhibition recounts the history and composition of this archaeological find.
