Departure from Abbesses metro station (line 12).
(S/E) Walk up towards Square Jehan Rictus, north of Place des Abbesses. Visit the square, pass in front of a Wallace fountain and walk back down towards the metro station. Cross Rue des Abbesses and turn right to reach the entrance to the Saint-Jean de Montmartre church (which you can visit).
Continue along Rue des Abbesses and turn right onto Rue Ravignan, the passage of the same name. At the end, turn left onto Rue Garreau and continue to the bottom of Place Émile Goudeau. Climb the steps on the right to see the Bateau Lavoir. Retrace your steps and follow Rue Garreau on the right.
(1) Turn right onto Rue Burq and walk up towards a pretty mansion, a square, and the back of Dalida's former home. Retrace your steps.
(1) At the crossroads, continue down Rue Burq. At the end, turn right and then left onto Rue Aristide Bruant. At the end, turn right onto Rue Véron. Then turn left onto Rue Lepic and continue to the crossroads with Rue Constance.
Continue along Rue Lepic until you reach the Café des deux Moulins at no. 15. Retrace your steps and, at the crossroads, turn left onto Rue Constance.
(2) At the next intersection, continue along Impasse Blanche (maison l'Escalopier). Retrace your steps.
(2) Turn left onto Rue Constance. At the end, turn right, then left twice to rejoin Rue Lepic. Make a wide right turn on this street.
(3) Follow Rue d'Orchampt to the right until you reach no. 11bis. Retrace your steps.
(3) Continue along Rue Lepic on the right. At the fork, go left and follow Place Jean-Baptiste Clément. At the next intersection, turn left onto Rue Norvins. Follow Place Marcel Aymé (with the Passe-Muraille) and turn right and then left onto Avenue Junot.
Note the Maison Poulbot at no. 13 and the Maison Tristan Tzara at no. 15. At the corner of no. 17, turn left and go back along the communal path no. 18 with the Rocher de la Sorcière (private cul-de-sac). At the corner of no. 23ter, turn left again and go back along the Villa Léandre. Continue along Avenue Junot.
(4) Take the first right, Rue Simon Dereure, until you reach Place Casadesus. Go up the steps and follow Allée des Brouillards until you reach Place Dalida. Opposite, take Rue de l'Abreuvoir.
At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on Rue Cortot until you reach the Musée de Montmartre. Retrace your steps and turn right onto Rue des Saules.
(5) At the intersection, turn left onto Rue Saint-Vincent. At Place Constantin Pecqueur, turn right onto Rue Lucien Gaulard. Take the first right to visit the Saint-Vincent Cemetery.
Retrace your steps and turn right twice to follow Rue Caulaincourt. At the next intersection, turn right onto Rue des Saules. Go up the stairs and pass the cabaret Le Lapin Agile.
(5) Turn left onto Rue Saint-Vincent. Take the first right onto Rue du Mont Cenis. Cross Rue Cortot on your right and continue straight ahead for about 50 metres.
(6) Continue for a few metres and take the first right, Rue Saint-Rustique. At the end, turn left twice, then right onto Rue Poulbot. Cross Place Dali and you will arrive at Place du Tertre. Cross the square or go around it on the right to arrive at Place Jean Marais.
Make a quick detour to the right to visit the Saint-Pierre de Montmartre church. Continue right on Rue du Mont Cenis.
(6) Turn right onto Rue du Chevalier de la Barre. At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue du Cardinal Guibert. Turn left to reach the Sacré-Coeur square.
Continue east, go down the steps, cross Rue du Cardinal Dubois and continue along Rue Maurice Utrillo.
(7) At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue Paul Albert. At the next crossroads, continue along Rue Charles Nodier and follow this street to the end.
Turn right onto Place Saint-Pierre and pass under the funicular station. Continue straight ahead on Rue Tardieu. At the crossroads, follow Rue Yvonne Le Tac until you reach the Abbesses metro station (S/E/).
