Description of the walk

Start from the Place de l'Église in Pludual (22200). Green-marked circular route.

(S/E) From the square, head up Rue du Manoir and turn left onto the grassy path just before the town hall. After 350m, you’ll emerge between two houses onto the D79.

(1). Turn left, then take the first right towards the sports ground. Before reaching it, turn left and continue on to the village of Kermellec. You will see a fountain on your left and an old bread oven on the right, attached to the gable of a house.

(2) Immediately turn right onto the grassy path and you’ll come out in the village of Toul Lan. Turn left and continue for 500m.

(3) Turn onto the stony path on the left. At the end of this, turn right towards the village of Pen-Hastel. This village was the site of Langarzeau Castle in the Middle Ages; sadly, nothing remains of it today. Turn left opposite a house.

(4) 100m further on, turn left again. After the last houses, you’ll come out onto a stony path that will take you to the Kerprat crossroads. Cross this, then turn left onto the small path behind the farmhouse and arrive on a grassy, shaded path.

(5) After crossing the Lan wetland, turn right and you’ll emerge on the outskirts of the village of Keryvonnik. Turn immediately right and continue on to the village of Kergonan.

(6) At a bend, take the path on the left towards the village of Lespicot.

(7) Just before the only house, take the shaded path on the left and continue to the village of Keryvonnick, which you will pass through partway.

(8) Opposite a house, turn right and continue along this road. Cross the D94 at a wayside cross, then you will reach the D79.

(9). Turn left, then take the D94 to return to the starting point:/A;;.

Worth a visit

In the neighbouring village of Plouha, you’ll discover Brittany’s highest cliffs. Standing 104 m high, Pointe de Plouha is the highest point on the 14 km-long rocky coastline, home to hidden coves, bird nesting areas, the ancient medieval port of Gwin Zégal, and a chapel containing terrifying frescoes in the village of Kermaria.

We didn’t complete the whole route and got lost… there were muddy patches and we drove a long way, but at least there weren’t many cars

A very rural walk
Muddy patches in dry weather, probably tricky without wellies in wet weather. (Walk in wellies?)
A few sections rutted by tractors?
An easy walk but not particularly scenic.
A slightly convoluted route; we took a shortcut towards the end

A rural route; the sea air doesn’t reach this far. Poorly maintained paths. Damp; best avoided in wet weather.

A reconnaissance route before taking a group there; an easy route, though perhaps a bit too much driving...
Extremely well signposted; would be interesting for a return visit, but especially after a very dry spell. Impassable in places as it was so flooded... we had to use the embankments to get through. Big mistake with the timing!!!!

Far too much tarmac, and the wetland hasn’t been cleaned up at all. Not worth a look.

It’s always a real pleasure to use Visorando for my running routes.

Problem solved. You shouldn’t have used the form with the ratings; instead, you should have followed the instructions on the second line of the form, which says to “click here” for a reply or a simple question.

I marked it as 'disappointing' because I couldn't see the 'not used' option...

I agree with Francisco; we did the walk in late autumn and some sections were no longer passable without high boots.
A relatively pleasant walk, but with no real points of interest. Best suited for a Sunday stroll with the family, to help with digestion

Best done in fine weather, as some areas (marshes and steep-sided paths
may prove tricky to navigate; high-top shoes are recommended. This winter has taken its toll on some trees, which will most likely be removed from the trails in time for the warmer weather ahead.
