Plouray walks

Departure from the Church of Saint-Yon in the village of Locuon in the commune of Ploërdut, in search of the springs of the Aër, a stream that takes its source from several small brooks that feed it and which will be discovered throughout this country walk. The trail is signposted and suggested by the Pays du Roy Morvan Tourist Office. Very often wet and muddy in winter, you'll need to be well equipped to complete this trail, or to enjoy it from mid-April to September when the weather is milder. Don't miss the Chapelle de Notre Dame de la Fosse at the end of the tour.

This easy, accessible loop takes you to the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Langonnet, a remarkable site in the Pays du Roi Morvan that is not to be missed, as well as two archaeological sites: the Tumulus and Motte Castrale de Kermain. You will also discover chapels, churches and fountains, as well as the courtroom in Priziac. At the end of the route, extend your walk with a relaxing break at the Lac du Bel Air in Priziac, where you can picnic, go paddleboarding, windsurfing or pedal boating, or simply enjoy the natural surroundings. There is also a well-equipped children's playground by the lake and at the Pontigou pond in Langonnet.

This magnificent loop takes you along beautiful country roads to the Drukpa Buddhist centre in Plouray, a unique place to visit and discover in Brittany, offering an immersion in Himalayan culture and spirituality. It also invites you to discover the Carrière de Locuon, a village built on a granite site marked by Gallo-Roman history, and the commune of Ploërdut, which has been awarded the Commune du Patrimoine Rural de Bretagne label.

This loop, suitable for all ages, invites you to discover the history and religious architecture of Le Faouët, with visits to the iconic Sainte-Barbe Chapel and Saint-Fiacre Chapel. A stop in the village allows you to stroll under the market halls and visit the museum, or simply enjoy a gourmet break in one of the shops or restaurants available.

This loop allows you to discover the varied heritage and landscapes of the communes of Le Faouët and Priziac. It is both pleasant and interesting, with many tourist attractions, including the market halls and museum in Le Faouët, the eco-museum and covered walkway in Botquenven, and the courtroom in Priziac, as well as magnificent panoramic views throughout the route. You will also discover religious heritage sites such as chapels, churches and fountains.This is an ideal route for occasional outings with family or friends to explore and relax.

Made up of tourist roads, this loop offers superb panoramic views. It invites you on a journey through a rich historical heritage, with visits to the Queen's Baths and the remains of the Château des Rohan, as well as the Maison Limbour and half-timbered houses (Guémené-sur-Scorff). In Kernascléden, stop off to discover the famous church with its remarkable architecture and the Maison de la Chauve-Souris (Bat House), where you can immerse yourself in the world of these mysterious mammals.Designed to combine leisure and discovery, this loop offered by the Roi Morvan Community is suitable for electric bikes (e-bikes) or hybrid bikes.This is a cycle touring route with significant elevation changes over long distances, making it more suitable for experienced cyclists.

This route offers you an immersion in an area rich in heritage and varied landscapes, with superb panoramic views of the countryside of the Pays du Roi Morvan. Throughout this magnificent loop, you will pass through villages and hamlets. Don't hesitate to push open the doors of chapels and churches to discover architectural wonders. Among the must-see sights are the famous Statue of Liberty, the park and château of Tronjoly in Gourin, and the exceptional church of La Trinité-Langonnet (completely renovated in 2022). Take a relaxing break at the Pontigou lake. An ideal route for families.

This loop invites you to cycle through the heart of a landscape typical of central Brittany. As you ride along, you will pass through villages and hamlets, discover chapels, churches and fountains, and enjoy superb views of the surrounding countryside, with a magnificent shaded road running alongside the Scorff valley. Halfway up the hill, stop off at the medieval hamlet of Pont Callec, a must-see in the Pays du Roi Morvan! Your visit to Kernascléden will be an opportunity to enter the famous Notre-Dame de Kernascléden church with its flamboyant Gothic architecture, which houses one of the two danse macabre scenes in Brittany. Opposite, the Maison de la Chauve-Souris (Bat House) will tell you all about the world of this mysterious mammal. Designed to combine leisure and discovery, this loop proposed by the Roi Morvan Community is suitable for electric bikes (e-bikes) or hybrid bikes. An ideal circuit for lovers of cycling, natural heritage, architecture and history.

This pleasant loop will takeyou through villages rich in architectural heritage, with beautiful granite houses and unmissable sites such as chapels, churches, the Château de Tronjoly, Guiscriff railway station and, of course, the Statue of Liberty in Gourin. It also offers superb panoramic views, particularly along the D187 between Le Saint and Guiscriff.

This hike was completed and written during the summer of 2015, an exceptional period when the lake was drained for dam maintenance.We invite hikers to do this walk in spring, when the colours and scents are at their best, with the clear waters of the lake as a backdrop. Since 2024, major work has been underway between points 3 and 4 with a view to building a free Himalayan footbridge for crossing the Blavet, which cuts the complete tour of the lake in two. This will still be possible for the most experienced walkers. (See note in "Practical information".

A loop on the north side of the Toulfoën forest, leading to a chapel, the road "Chemin du Duc", castle of Carnoët and the Bishop's Chair.

Two coastal rivers, the Aven and the Belon, have the same estuary facing Port Manec'h. This circuit largely follows the edge of the Belon and one of its coves, Penmor. During the walk, you will discover two beautiful fountains and the Saint-Léger Chapel.

This walk takes you along the Blavet estuary, between woodlands and salted meadows. Beautiful landscapes, fauna, flora, and a fascinating boat cemetery.

In the footsteps of "Gauguin at Nizon" (Christ Vert or "Green Christ") and Trémalo chapel (Christ Jaune or "Yellow Christ")The route follows the forest "Bois d'Amour" and Aven River banks.Return along country paths.

After a peaceful walk along small country roads to discover the Allée Couverte Arc Boutée de Kerantiec, this circuit joins the karstic cave at the Rosbraz marina. The return via the GR®34 overlooks the left bank of the Aven and then the right bank of the Belon, offering views of the opposite bank of each river.

This route takes in the Loch Reserve. A former arm of the sea that has been reclaimed and transformed into marshland.It's home to many species of flora and fauna. You'll cross reedy wetlands and enjoy birdwatching.

A lovely, easy route through woodland, sunken lanes and coastal paths. However, avoid during wet weather as there is a very muddy section between (3) and (6). A break at point (10) (Roche Percée) is highly recommended.

The Bois d'Avaugour and Meur offer a mix of paved paths and trails. The Tro Vras circuit follows the western loop with beautiful trails through moorland, along the Avaugour (which reveals its beauty in winter when the vegetation allows it to be seen) and forest paths. The transition to the eastern loop is challenging (with mud in winter) but offers views of some very beautiful trees. The eastern loop, pleasant at first, is less interesting on the way back, except for the last three kilometres, which descend between tree stumps. The extension with the loop along the Avaugour first follows an unmaintained trail and becomes difficult in summer with tall grass and brambles.

Leaving the small port of Merrien, you follow the seafront. After returning via small grassy paths, you'll make your way up the entire ria.

From the small port of Brigneau, nestled in a magnificent estuary, follow theGR®34trail to Île Percée, a small island where blockhouses were used to defend the coast and, above all, the submarine base at Lorient. The return journey along country lanes and through woods takes you back to the bottom of the ria, where old sardine boats lie dismantled and silted up, living out their final days.

From the Saint-Nicolas Chapel in the heart of the seaside town of Port Mananec'h, this route descends to the beach, running alongside it at a height before joining the coastal path followed by the GR® 34. After a slightly steep section, the hike continues inland to reach a cove of the Karstic Cave and then the river, which you follow to Port Manec'h.

On the way there and back, this circuit follows the coastal path around the Anse de Rospico. Inland, you can admire small villages with their old bread ovens. Kerascoët, the village of thatched cottages, will delight photographers. Don't forget the fountains that dot the route and the Chapel of Trémorvézen.
