Cycling between the chapels of Sainte-Barbe and Saint-Fiacre in Le Faouët

This loop, suitable for all ages, invites you to discover the history and religious architecture of Le Faouët, with visits to the iconic Sainte-Barbe Chapel and Saint-Fiacre Chapel. A stop in the village allows you to stroll under the market halls and visit the museum, or simply enjoy a gourmet break in one of the shops or restaurants available.

Description of the route

The starting point for this route is in the town of Le Faouët, in the car park of the village hall (salle polyvalente), Rue des Écoles.

(S/E) From the car park of the village hall, take the alleyway, Cour de la Mairie.

(1) Turn right onto Rue Victor Robic, then left onto Place Bellanger. At the fork, keep right towards the access road, turn slightly right onto Rue du Soleil (D132), then turn left onto Rue de Sainte-Barbe. At the end, turn left onto Rue Jean Corentin Carré, turn slightly right onto Rue du Maréchal Leclerc (D790). Continue for 90 m, then at the corner of No. 12, turn right onto Rue de Coat Palès. Go under the road bridge and you will come to a fork with a track on the left.

(2) Take this road, then turn right onto the road to reach the Chapelle Sainte-Barbe.

(3) Turn around and retrace your steps until you reach Rue des Halles on the right in Faouët. Take this road and continue until you reach Place des Halles.

(4) Turn right onto Rue du Soleil, then left onto Rue de Saint-Fiacre and continue straight ahead.

(5) Leave Rue du Midi on your left (return) and continue straight ahead.

(6) Look for Rue des Bergères on your left and continue straight ahead until you reach Lande de Saint-Fiacre.

(7) Turn left onto the cycle path, then keep right at the fork and follow the path to the road.

(8) Keep right, pass the hamlet of Coat Loret and continue straight ahead until you reach Saint-Fiacre. At the first houses, turn left and head towards the Chapelle Saint-Fiacre.

(9) From the chapel, turn right towards Saint-Fiacre, then left. At the D790, turn right then quickly leave this road to continue right and reach the Lande de Saint-Fiacre.

(7) Continue straight ahead and follow the same route back to Rue des Bergères, which you will see on the way there.

(6) Follow it to the right, then turn left onto Rue de Midi and join Rue de Saint-Fiacre.

(5) Turn right and quickly join the car park of the multi-purpose hall on Rue des Écoles on your right (S/E).

Notes

Designed to combine leisure and discovery, this loop proposed by Roi Morvan Communauté is suitable for electric bikes (e-bikes) or hybrid bikes.

Please take care on the road. You will be cycling on quiet local roads and a few busier departmental roads. The Highway Code applies on shared paths.

Helmets are compulsory for children under 12 and strongly recommended for other users. Wearing a high-visibility vest is also recommended.

The Pays du Roi Morvan has some steep hills, so think about your calves and save your battery so you can get back without too much effort!
