Access: the starting point is near the church in Basse-sur-le-Rupt, in the hamlet of Planois on the CD 34 departmental road between Vagney and La Bresse.
(S/E) Walk 200 m down the departmental road (D34), then turn right and follow the Route du Droit.
(1) Behind the farm (No. 12), at Denise's house, turn right and then go up the communal road (small dirt track). Then, 100 m further on, turn right towards the east. Before a small building (pumping station), turn left along the green fence to go towards the tennis court and join Chemin La Roche des Renards.
(2) Follow it to the right until you reach Route du Bambois heading south-east. At the crossroads, continue along the road towards Route des Plateaux, where you turn right and continue for a few dozen metres.
(3) At the cross (hidden among the hazelnut trees), turn right onto a path for 100 metres and then, behind a farm, take the Anneau Jaune marked trail (going uphill) and continue eastwards to the Roche Plate viewpoint (table and bench).
(4) Continue along this path marked with yellow rings, which joins the departmental road (CD34). Cross the departmental road with caution, then walk 100 metres to the right and you will arrive at a junction of paths.
(5) Continue to follow the yellow ring trail, which veers to the right. Descend for about 100 metres, follow the tarmac road, then the dirt track for 200 metres and climb behind Rose's farm (team AX), still following the yellow ring trail. After the farm, continue for 150 metres and turn right onto the yellow ring trail. Continue straight ahead. At the intersection, continue in the same direction, following the Green Ring markings south-southwest to a place called Les Auberts. Pass Croix Colin, then a small stream.
Continue in the same direction, following the green ring markings, and pass Sous Leudie. Continue for 200 m and at the Tête du Saulx crossroads (panoramic view 150 m into the park). Turn left, following the green ring markings towards the south. Climb up to the viewpoint with a table and bench near a large fir tree with a windsock.
(6) Continue south, pass the edge of the woods and take a small path, still following the same signs. You will come to a fork in the path.
(7) For the 9 km circuit: turn left heading east-northeast towards Haut du Roc and walk 500 m to reach point 12 and the rest of the route.
For the 14.5 km circuit, at the end of the small path, continue in the same direction west towards Col de la Burotte, going down the large dirt track. Follow the green ring and red diamond markings.
At Col de la Burotte (altitude 791 m), near the table, follow the green ring markings towards the east. At the Les Ballons viewpoint with a bench, follow the yellow cross markings towards the east.
At the intersection with a tarmac road, continue in the same direction, following the yellow cross and red ring markings towards the east. The path follows the contour lines in the same direction.
Pass a small bench, viewpoint over the heights of Saulxures/Moselotte: Col de Morbieux, Col du Rhamné, Col de Xiard;
At the intersection with the Haut du Roc trail, Saulxures: this is the crossroads of the birch trees, follow the red ring markings. Pass through a park and gate (on the right, a short detour 30 m to the right offers a viewpoint).
(8) 100 m before a small pond, cross and house on the right, turn left and follow the red ring markings uphill.
(9) At the next intersection, turn left and follow the single Blue Ring markings, heading west-southwest. Then, 200 m at the intersection, go straight ahead and follow the Blue Ring Haut du Roc markings, heading west.
(10) At the next intersection, turn right and follow the Sommet Haut du Roc signs, marked with a red cross, blue cross and red triangle, heading east-south-east (TV relay visible on the left through the trees). Pass in front of Tables de Charlemagne.
(11) When you reach the TV relay station, head for the large white cross: Sommet du Haut du Roc (elevation 1012), viewpoint
Retrace your steps and follow the green ring markings that go around the TV relay station to the east: Circuit des Roches. Pass through the brambles below Haut du Roc and follow the green ring back to the colony.
Go behind the colony and the chapel and follow the red diamond markings Col de la Burotte: the path descends slightly. Then, after 200 m, turn right onto a small path and continue to follow the same markings. After about 600 m, change direction and take a small path that veers to the right, following the green ring markings, heading north-east.
(12) 14.5 km and 9.5 km circuit: follow the small path downhill, following the green ring markings towards the north-east.
(13) At Tirosgoutte, go through the gate to access the orientation table, the table with benches, and the paragliding take-off point. Continue to follow the green ring markings at the intersections for approximately 1,300 metres until you reach Les Isches, a viewpoint with benches. La Roche des Isches viewpoint with table and benches. Sous les Isches (altitude 767 m) with benches.
(14) At the Sous les Isches intersection, follow the yellow diamond and yellow cross markings in a north-easterly direction and rejoin the outward path in the opposite direction.
(5) 50 m after the farm and a small ruined outbuilding, change direction by turning left, following the yellow ring markings towards Planois. Pass by a forest and the Le Rupt stream. At the tarmac road, turn left, following the red triangle and blue cross signs towards the west. Pass behind a farm, then, 150 m further on, near the cross, turn right, following the yellow ring signs.
(15) On the local road, take a detour to the left to go around the Étang du Moulin lake 100 m away.
Return to the municipal road and head north-east. Cross the Le Rupt stream near a house: this is the old village mill. You will arrive at the car park near the church in Basse-sur-le-Rupt (S/E).
