La Garenne Route No. 1: a short family walk around the Berry Canal

A short family walk along the waterways.
This short route takes in the Berry Canal and the River Cher, where you may have the pleasure of spotting a few swans that have made this stretch of water their home. This walk is very easy.

Description of the walk

Start from L’Escale de Thénioux.

(S) Take the path between the landing stage and the Rio. After the barrier, turn right and cross the small stone bridge.

(2). Cross the Route de Genouilly and take the Chemin de la Garenne opposite. Follow this stony path for 1 km between fields and a small pond. Walk alongside the river on your left for a few metres, then turn right to climb the embankment of the canal’s spillway:

(3) Describe the instructions from the crossing point here.

:3(. Turn right and follow the canal to the village. You’ll reach the historic ferryman’s bridge (demarcation line). Cross the road and continue along the canal to the stopover)A::.
