Start from the Clos stadium, Avenue du Clos.
(S/E)With the stadium behind you, leave the Clos housing estate, take the Route de Saint-Tropez to the left, pass under the motorway bridge and quickly come to a crossroads.
(1) Turn left into Chemin de la Rourède and, at the three-way junction, keep left intoChemin de la Rourède Est, until you reach the junction with the road bridge on your left.
(2 ) Pass under the bridge (Roucas Troucas tarmac road), then immediately to the right,Chemin du Peyloubier Nord, and to the left, Chemin de la Savoie, and climb up to Chemin du Plateau. Follow this road to the right until it bends 90° to the left at the end of the housing estate.
(3) Take the gravel track opposite, which may be closed to vehicles by a barrier. After passing under the road bridge, you will come to a fork in the path, which is stony and strewn with roots of varying sizes.
(4) Keep to the left, on the half-sand, half-stony track. After skirting the motorway, passing a gravelled section, then a stony section, fork left and come to a crossroads with a road bridge on your left.
(5) Pass under the bridge and continue along the Chemin de Saint-Jean to the right. After skirting the motorway, this turns left and reaches a junction with Chemin de Maïme.
(6) Turn right, pass under the motorway bridge and come to a 90° left-hand bend with access to a private property opposite.
(7) Continue left along the tarmac road . Pass the estate, farm and bastide of Maïme. The track is well tarmacked as far as the farm, but then there are numerous potholes and it becomes a gravel track. Go past woods on the right and vines on the left, until you reach a fork in the road.
(8)Continue straight ahead, through undergrowth, on a track that is half earth and half stones. A barrier may close the access to vehicles (you can continue to the left and rejoin the route via a footpath). Cross fields of vines, then enter the woods and come to a three-way junction.
(9) Turn right uphill onto a gravel track that can be very rutted. At the next crossroads, turn left at a hairpin bend and continue along this gullied, stony track until you reach a multiple crossroads on the ridge.
(10) Take the2nd track on the left. Climb up and alongside large broom trees on the right, then continue between two rows of trees on a dirt and gravel track. Reach a fork with a DFCI tank.
(11) Go left and continue on the main track (Piste de la Tournavelle). As you descend, on the left of the track, at the bottom of the valley, admire the winding Argens river. Reach the bridge where the Aille and Argens rivers meet.
(12) Cross the bridge and continue along the Chemin du Bac. At the three-way junction, keep to the left on the Piste des Bauquières, which descends slightly, follows the course of the Aregens and then leaves it, reaching a fork in the road after a bridge.
(13) Turn left and climb up to a multiple junction at the crest.
(14) Turn right and continue along the track, which almost follows the contour line. Keep right at the next forks, and reach a wide one with multiple starts.
(15) Head straight ahead, then fork left to leave the summit of Castel Diaou behind. Go around the Bauquières property to the left, then fork right, reaching a wide junction with a DFCI tank on your left.
(16) Turn right, onto the Piste de Castel Diaou, and follow this path, almost along the ridge, to the next junction, with a DFCI tank.
(17) Turn right onto the Piste des Pommiers, a sand and gravel track. Stay on the main track, which follows the contour, then curves down to the left and reaches a fork.
(18) Go left, past the hamlet of Pommier, then fork right and descend to a cross-country track.
(19) Keep right and stay on the main track until you reach a road with a DFCI tank.
(20) Turn right onto the D72 (Route du Plan de la Tour), cross the bridge and join the 1st track on the left.
(21) Take it, go alongside the golf course fence, and follow the track, straight on, not very easy, quite damaged, gullied and stony at the same time, until a wide fork with a DFCI tank.
(22) Turn right onto the Piste de la Bible to reach a large crossroads near a vineyard.
(23) Turn right onto the Piste des Fenouils and head straight up, due north.
(24) Cross the small ford, join the road, follow it to the left and cross the bridge over the River Aille.
(25) Continue along the road to the right (D72), reaching the Chemin de la Bastide de Castel on the right, just after a tiny bridge marked with blue and white obstacle markers.
(26) Take this bridge and continue straight ahead along this stony path until, after a short climb, you come to a small road.
(27) Follow this road to the left until you come to the Chemin des Bruyères on the right after no. 1075.
(28) Take this on the right and head straight up, due north. The path then becomes a footpath, passing through the grass and leading to a road.
(29) Turn left and return to the original route.
(2) Go straight ahead and, taking the opposite route, return to the Clos stadium, Avenue du Clos (S/E).
