Walk along the Eyre and through its delta
A family walk through the forest and then across the Eyre delta and its marshland landscapes, with wildlife in abundance throughout the route.
Tour of the Arcachon Basin
Arcachon - Cap Ferret by bike is a very pleasant way to get an overview of this magnificent lagoon opening onto the ocean.
You will pass through numerous coastal towns, seaports and oyster farms, a bird sanctuary and the Lège and Garonne national forest.
The return trip by boat at the end of the day is a little gem in itself.
Teich Bird Park – Banks of the Eyre – Lake Teich
Walk along the dykes behind the Teich Bird Park. You can spot some wildlife, enjoy the beaches and explore the banks of the River Eyre.
You can do the walk on foot or by bike, but be careful not to slip in the sandy areas.
Along the River Eyre from Mios
A circular path following the Grande Leyre, a river which flows into the basin after joining its main tributary, the Petite Leyre. A very pretty, shaded path along a calm, wild river, with lovely scenery. Return via a pine forest.
In the event of heavy rain, the path may be impassable.
Tour of the Arcachon basin, from Audenge to Biganos
The third stage of this tour of the Arcachon Basin leads from Audenge to Biganos station. The option chosen is to travel by train from Biganos to Arcachon because crossing the marshes is not possible during the chosen season (December). The route is entirely on roads, with a pleasant stretch through a forest of various deciduous trees. Biganos is a larger town than the villages we passed through earlier and has no particular charm except for its harbour.
